WBTV Bringing Castle Rock & Gotham to New York Comic Con #NYCC

WBTV is bringing a number of its shows to New York Comic Con, including Gotham and the new Stephen King-inspired TV series Castle Rock. In exactly one month (from the time of writing this), fans, creators, and much of the entertainment industry will gather together for New York’s increasingly-popular Comic Con. While the International Comic-Con in San Diego each year still reigns supreme, NYCC is quickly becoming the place to showcase the latest TV shows and movies as SDCC grows larger and more unruly.

Next month, FOX will bring shows like The Gifted and X-Files to the convention, while Pacific Rim: Uprising will debut its first trailer. Likely, more trailers and plenty of brand-new information will arrive regarding some of TV and film’s biggest genre works. Joining FOX and Legendary will be Warner Bros Television, which currently has a number of irons in the fire. Along with their shows on The CW, WBTV currently has projects all across the dial and on many streaming services. Next month, they will bring some of their most popular and anticipated shows to New York.

Deadline is reporting that WBTV will host a number of panels on Sunday, October 8 during the last day of NYCC. Along with a panel on all of their TV offerings, there will be individual Q&A’s and presentations for Gotham and Blindspot, as well as the upcoming Hulu series Castle Rock. Magical crime drama Deception will receive the same treatment, but will also air its entire pilot for attendees.

Though Gotham will have already aired a few episodes by the time NYCC rolls around, glimpses of the show’s future will likely be included in the presentation. We have learned that Gordon and Bruce will have a contentious relationship this season, while the latter will begin donning a costume and fighting crime. Meanwhile, Fringe alum Michael Cerveris will play new villain Professor Pyg, and it wouldn’t be surprising if a first look at the character came during NYCC.

Whether Cerveris will reunite with J.J. Abrams at NYCC or not is unknown, but the latter creative may be on-hand for the Castle Rock presentation. The new show will see the many worlds of Stephen King brought together for an original thriller that should arrive next year on Hulu. We know the show will see Lost alum Terry O’Quinn return to Abrams world, and Daredevil‘s Scott Glenn has also joined the cast. And just to add another meta level to the Kingverse, new IT actor Bill Skarsgård will also appear on the show. While the cast and creatives from each of NBC’s shows that will feature at NYCC have not yet been announced, expect plenty of reveals to come soon.

There’s still room to buy Thursday tickets for NYCC and to enter Screen Rant’s giveaway to win four-day passes! Stick around for more New York Comic Con news as it happens live!
