Some Warner Bros. employees reportedly believe that the company could soon be sold to a rival studio. Founded in 1923, Warner Bros. is one of the longest-running and biggest-name studios in Hollywood. In 2023, they were behind several key films including the highest grossing film of the year, Barbie.
As per Variety, Warner Bros. reportedly is at risk of being bought up by a rival studio. In a report primarily on Aquaman 2 and the state of DC Studios, the outlet notes that some WB employees not only believe that another company will buy the legacy studio within two years, but that Universal is the most likely candidate.
