Warner Bros. sets a rare box office record before closing off the 2023 movie year. This Christmas weekend saw the release of several major movies, including Ferrari, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Color Purple, as well as the continued distribution of Wonka, which came out on December 15. Three of these films — The Color Purple, Wonka, and Aquaman — were produced by Warner Bros.
As per IndieWire, Warner Bros. has managed to score a new record during the Christmas weekend. With Aquman and the Lost Kingdom, Wonka, and The Color Purple all making it into the top 3 films for the weekend, Warner Bros. made history by becoming the first distributor to have the top 3 films during any week.
