WandaVision: The Main Characters, Ranked By Intelligence

WandaVision: The Main Characters, Ranked By Intelligence

Disney+’s latest series, Wandavision has proven to be a real hit so far, expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a unique and fresh manner. With the sitcom-style series being blended with plenty of mystery and intrigue, the entire thing has been gripping, tense, and also very funny.

But it is the characters who are really driving everything, and for a show that has been written so cleverly, it’s no surprise that those within the series have proven to be intelligent as well. The show has plenty of smart characters, who are able to make key decisions and showcase their ability to think on their feet, but who is the smartest?

Billy/Tommy Maximoff

WandaVision: The Main Characters, Ranked By Intelligence

Purely based on their age, the children of Vision and Wanda are always going to be the least intelligent characters in the series. The two of them begin to develop their powers and they do prove to be both inquisitive and caring, just like their parents.

However, they’re not smart enough to fully understand what is going on at all points within the series, therefore they’re the least intelligent characters, but it is purely due to age and experience.

Harold Proctor

Emma Caufield as Dottie David Lengel as Phil Jones Harold Proctor Attending Talent Show WandaVision

Harold Proctor is one of the more memorable characters within Westview, as he is someone who comes out with some funny one-liners at different points in the show. However, he’s not one of the most intelligent people that appears.

A big part of that is due to the control that Wanda has over him and his brain, with the true version of Harold not really being shown. However, even out of all the neighbors, he isn’t one of the smartest.

Pietro Maximoff

Quicksilver Quip WandaVision

One of the big surprises that the show has given to fans is the return of Pietro Maximoff (aka Quicksilver). However, this time, it was done with a twist, as the character was recast in the sitcom world, with Evan Peters replacing Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and with that came a change in attitude and intelligence.

Evan Peters’ version of the character is a lot more relaxed, as he comes in to stir things up within the family, trying to take Vision off the scent of what is going on. Throughout his time on the show, Pietro proves himself to not be intelligent at all, acting more like a teenager who is just happy to sleep in and have fun than showcase any real brains.

Jimmy Woo

Randall Park as Jimmy Woo in WandaVision

Jimmy Woo made his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Wandavision, and once again he’s proven to be a very compelling character. The FBI agent brings a huge amount of personality and comedy to his role, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he is also intelligent.

You don’t get into the position he’s in without being a smart person, and that is clear within this series. He is developing as an agent and learning on the job. Jimmy Woo is smart enough to question things and wants to know more, which proves to be a helpful trait as the series develops.

Tyler Hayward

WandaVision Episode 4 - Tyler Hayward

As the Director of S.W.O.R.D. there is no doubt that Tyler Hayward is one of the smartest characters within Wandavision. He might not be one of the nicest people, as he is incredibly blunt and rude at times, but he certainly is intelligent.

Sometimes, he isn’t smart enough to actually see that his methods are doing more damage than good, but he clearly knows how to get things done. Hayward wastes little time in putting a great team together who can give him all the necessary information, and even though he’s blind to some obvious help, he is a smart man.

Monica Rambeau

Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau in WandaVision

Monica Rambeau is the daughter of Maria, and while she misses some time in life due to the snap, it doesn’t affect her intelligence. As soon as she returns to the world, she is straight back to action, showing her brilliance at being able to organize and prepare things in order to determine what is actually happening in Westview.

Monica ends up as one of Wanda and Vision’s neighbors as Geraldine at one point, but even after she’s ejected, Monica still has the smartness to come up with new ideas. She is always one step ahead of others around her, and that is purely down to how well trained and determined she is.

Agatha Harkness

Agnes does an interview in WandaVision

Originally being seen as someone who is just part of Wanda’s world and a sitcom character who doesn’t have much intelligence, it is eventually revealed that Agatha Harkness is one of the smartest characters in the show. She is a witch who is able to play Wanda at her own game, making her think that she is under her control.

In actual fact, Agatha is using her own powers to influence things that happen within Westview, and that is purely down to her intelligence. It comes as one of the many twists within the show, but that it’s a moment of brilliance on her behalf, striking when the opportunity is right for her.

Wanda Maximoff

Wandavision wanda house changing

Wanda Maximoff is certainly one of the smartest characters within the show, purely because she’s one of the only people who actually understands what is happening. Wanda showcases incredible power to put the world of Westview together, but it also takes great brains to do that.

While the sitcom version of her character isn’t overly intelligent, when she breaks out of that false character, Wanda really shows how smart she is. Being able to keep on top of everything that is happening certainly isn’t an easy situation, but she’s smart enough to do so.

Vision

WandaVision Episode 5 - Human Vision

Normally, Vision is the most intelligent character in any setting that he’s in, but because he’s displayed in a more comedic manner throughout a lot of the show, he doesn’t quite get the top spot. However, despite the fact Vision doesn’t remember his past, he still manages to work out that something is wrong within Westview.

Vision then uses his intelligence and powers to start piecing the puzzle together, and the fact he’s able to do all of that despite not being completely himself is all down to the fact he’s one of the smartest MCU characters of all time.

Darcy Lewis

Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis

Darcy Lewis is the smartest character to appear on the series, which shouldn’t be a surprise as her previous appearances in the MCU have proven just how intelligent she is. Darcy is an astrophysicist who is brought in by S.W.O.R.D. purely because of her brainpower.

She is able to help them determine things that the others cannot work out, as she tries different ideas to contact those inside of Westview. While Darcy also showcases real charisma, it is ultimately her smartness that makes her stand out, and the fact she is so confident in her knowledge only helps that.
