Walking Dead Daryl Spinoff Show Reveals New Cast & Character Details

New cast members and character details have been revealed for The Walking Dead‘s upcoming Daryl Dixon spinoff show. Although The Walking Dead ends in just two more episodes, the stories of major characters from the show will continue in multiple spinoff series set to air in 2023. These series include The Walking Dead: Dead City, featuring Negan and Maggie trekking to New York City for reasons unknown, and a series focused on Rick and Michonne Grimes after the characters left the series in seasons 9 and 10, respectively. Every spinoff AMC is producing features characters of great importance to The Walking Dead universe, and Daryl Dixon will be no exception.

The self-titled spinoff series will see Daryl travel halfway across the world from the familiar territory of Virginia to the dangerous streets of France. While not much is known about how the series will play out, star Norman Reedus has underscored how the show will present itself differently than anything else in The Walking Dead universe. Reedus also revealed that Daryl will not be going to France of his own free will, indicating a large group like the CRM may have been involved in his overseas displacement. With filming for Daryl Dixon underway, more details about the show will continue to emerge as time goes on.

In a report from Deadline, Daryl’s The Walking Dead spinoff series has gained two core cast members in the form of Clémence Poésy and Adam Nagaitis. Poésy will be playing Isabelle, the show’s female lead and “a member of a progressive religious group” who appears to have a mysterious past tied to Paris. Nagaitis will be portraying Quinn, a powerful Parisian who trades in a post-apocalyptic black market and owns Demimonde, a nightclub in the city. While Isabelle’s character description reveals Poésy will be joining Reedus as a hero in the spinoff, it’s unknown what role Nagaitis’ Quinn will have opposite Daryl.

What These New Characters Mean For The Daryl Dixon Spinoff

Walking Dead Daryl Spinoff Show Reveals New Cast & Character Details

Character descriptions for Isabelle and Quinn reveal possibilities for what happens in Daryl Dixon, but concrete story details are still being kept under wraps. Isabelle’s description makes it likely that Daryl will come into contact with her religious group, forming a bond with Isabelle and settling down with their commune. However, with how negatively Daryl responded to the religious fervor of Reaper leader Pope during The Walking Dead season 11, it’s possible his alliance with Isabelle won’t start out stable. Her character description has similarities to Leah, whose involvement with the Reapers led to Daryl having to kill her. It’s possible those similarities are what makes Daryl wary of her at first, but ultimately strengthens an alliance between them as well.

Quinn is shrouded in more mystery, as it’s unclear whether he will be an antagonist or a sleazy yet helpful member of Daryl’s group. Walker threats in Daryl Dixon have already been established, with The Walking Dead: World Beyond revealing the existence of fast, aggressive zombie variants in France. While that may be enough as the show’s antagonistic force and key horror element, Quinn could also take up the role as another human villain in The Walking Dead universe to show how global human conflict is in the world of the undead. The Daryl Dixon casting announcements and character descriptions do more to tease the “very different” experience Reedus has promised from his spinoff show.
