“Wait…”: Jurassic World Star Reveals He Didn’t Know About His Character’s Dominion Fate

Jurassic World actor Jake Johnson reveals he didn’t know about his character’s Dominion fate. Johnson starred as control room operator Lowery Cruthers in the first installment of the sequel trilogy. The actor could not return to reprise his role for the second and third movies, Fallen Kingdom and Dominion. However, the latter featured a brief Easter egg referencing Johnson’s Lowery, implying he had joined the CIA. His image is shown on a computer screen when Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing meet up with Fallen Kingdom character Franklin Webb (Justice Smith), who also works for the CIA.

During a new interview with ComicBook.com, Jake Johnson learned of his Jurassic World character’s fate for the first time, revealing he did not know about Lowery becoming a CIA agent. He shares his genuine reaction to the news, as it was his first time hearing of it. Check out his response to Lowery’s fate below:

What? Wait … Which one? Dominion was the third one? … Lowery is a CIA agent? What about Lauren Lapkus’s character? Obviously, Lauren, who crushed it in the scene with me where she has the boyfriend. She’s so funny. Is she in the agency too? [Vivian’s] boyfriend for sure has to die … I think he gets just destroyed by a dinosaur … But I’m not one of those guys that, a girl turns you down and you hate her. Let her be fine. But I do want that fool to get paid. Let’s punish his ass. Let her go, whatever.

What’s Next For The Jurassic Park Franchise

“Wait…”: Jurassic World Star Reveals He Didn’t Know About His Character’s Dominion Fate

Following the release of Dominion, the question has become what the future holds for the Jurassic Park franchise. While there was the animated series, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, on Netflix, which concluded in 2022, the future of the franchise on the big screen is uncertain. Based on Dominion‘s box office performance, the franchise is still worthwhile in terms of commercial success in theaters. However, the film was not well-received by critics, despite bringing back legacy characters played by Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum from the original Jurassic Park movie. Although Dominion wrapped up the trilogy’s ongoing storyline, the film’s conclusion could provide future content.

Jurassic World: Dominion ended with dinosaurs and humans learning how to co-exist, leaving plenty of room for future storylines to be created and explored in a new Jurassic Park movie. While it is unlikely stars Chris Pratt or Bryce Dallas Howard will return, a fresh cast could be what the franchise needs to move forward successfully. Bringing back original director Steven Spielberg may also give the franchise the direction it needs to leave a lasting legacy, as Dominion failed to impress critics.

A sequel series for Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is set to be released in 2024, titled Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. With the show set after the events of Fallen Kingdom, it could very well flesh out the world further to set up the next big screen installment, including some of its characters crossing over to live-action. While it is still unknown if Jurassic World will return to the big screen, the possibilities of what the franchise could become are endless, proven by its current streaming success.
