Warning! Potential spoilers for Dark Ages #5 by Marvel Comics below

Marvel Comics is teasing its latest symbiote creation in a brand new look at Dark Ages #5, as Miles Morales will simultaneously host the Venom and Carnage symbiote. In a new look at an upcoming issue of the current miniseries, Miles Morales unleashes both deadly symbiotes as he takes on Deadpool in a stunning variant cover from Iban Coello.

In the current Dark Ages miniseries from Marvel Comics by Tom Taylor and Iban Coello, electricity has been turned off across the Marvel Universe after a deadly battle against the Unmaker. While heroes and villains initially struggled to adjust to a world without power, they eventually learned to work together and live life as best as possible without it. But, Apocalypse hasn’t stopped his quest for power as he’s turned Magneto into his ultimate weapon, as he uses Marvel’s most brilliant heroes to create electricity in a world without it. However, after Tony Stark is kidnapped, the surviving heroes realize Apocalypse’s plans are bigger than they ever could have imagined – including the villain seemingly having control of Miles Morales, who’s become a Venom/Carnage hybrid.

On Thursday, Marvel Comics revealed its solicits for February, including a new look at Miles Morales Venom/Carnage hybrid. Miles can be seen splitting into the symbiotes in the cover for Dark Ages #5 by Iban Coello as the trio attacks Deadpool. The Merc with the Mouth is heavily battled damaged, as his gunfire splits the symbiotes from Apocalypse’s secret weapon.

Deadpool seems to be biting off more than he can chew against the powerful Venom/Carnage symbiote, even with his healing factor. Although, it’s unclear whether the fight will actually happen in the comic or it’s just a variant cover starring Deadpool. Check out the synopsis for Dark Ages #5 below.

Spider-Man joins Doctor Doom, the X-Men, the Inhumans, the Avengers and what’s left of the Fantastic Four on a rescue mission across a continent ruled by a madman. But they could be too late. The dictator of Europe has heroes and villains by his side, and the unthinkable is now in motion. Apocalypse could tear the world apart.

Dark Ages #3 revealed that Apocalypse, who has more power than anyone in the Marvel Universe, was preparing to unleash Miles Morales on the surviving heroes. The symbiote monster told the evil X-Men villain that he’s “ready to hunt,” which is terrible news for those trying to stop Apocalypse.

If not having electricity wasn’t enough of an obstacle for Marvel’s remaining heroes in Dark Ages, Apocalypse having his own twisted Venom/Carnage symbiote is the latest indication that beating the ancient villain will be extremely difficult under the best circumstances. The Miles Morales Venom/Carnage variant cover for Dark Ages #5 by Iban Coello arrives in comic book stores in February.
