Vegeta Finally Becomes King of the Saiyans in Absolutely Epic New Art

Vegeta Finally Becomes King of the Saiyans in Absolutely Epic New Art

In Dragon Ball, the hot-headed character known as Vegeta is the prideful and powerful “Prince of All Saiyans” and is a force to be reckoned with in a fight, especially when his unquenchable bloodlust for battle gets the better of him. And despite him never being able to take on his father’s role as the leader of his people, a new piece of fanart has given Vegeta the “What If?” treatment he deserves, finally crowning him “King of All Saiyans.”

An image recently uploaded to X, username @DBSKAKERU1 is a prolific artist who draws Dragon Ball fanart “as a hobby,” a casual remark about their professional-level illustrations that doesn’t do this creator’s incredible talent justice.

Consistently sharing unique artwork that adapts iconic moments from the series while also presenting fans with alternate versions of characters and events they know well, @DBSKAKERU1 has drawn Trunks becoming King of the Saiyans, Chi-Chi getting her fighting spirit back, Gohan going Super Saiyan 2 as seen in Bojack Unbound, and more, rivaling Akira Toriyama for the quality of art put on display each time.

Vegeta Takes His Father’s Throne In New Dragon Ball Fanart

King Vegeta Dragon Ball

Unfortunately, Vegeta was never able to lay claim to his birthright as king of the Saiyan race after the terrible space tyrant known as Frieza quite literally blew his home planet to smithereens along with his father, King Vegeta, Goku’s dad, Bardock, and countless more, with Vegeta’s royal status (or lack thereof) having always fueled his pride and drive to become better than anyone in Dragon Ball lore, often to mixed results. And now, in this parallel world @DBSKAKERU1 has created, Vegeta gets everything he was destined to claim and then some.

Wearing his father’s armor, sigil, and royal pendant, as well as a black tank top and bodysuit underneath it all, Vegeta switches things up by staining his cape with a complementary set of orange hues rather than his father’s choice of darker colors, effectively making this look his own. Drawing Vegeta standing defiant as he grills the camera with a death stare while unfurling his still attached Saiyan tail, @DBSKAKERU1 does a commendable job of giving Vegeta the badass design he’s known for while making just enough changes to have him come off like a completely new character.

Vegeta Is Finally Crowned King In Epic Dragon Ball Art

Dragon Ball Super's Vegeta looking angry.

While it’s upsetting Planet Vegeta was utterly annihilated before Vegeta ever had a chance to rule over it as its rightful king, this inspired fanart at least gives fans a small taste of what could have been if the Saiyan forces fighting against Frieza succeeded in destroying him before he destroyed them. Now all Vegeta needs to do at this point is grow a sweet goatee just like his father had, and the character’s Dragon Ball journey will finally be complete!
