Vanderpump Rules Star Raquel Leviss Checks Into Mental Health Facility

Vanderpump Rules season 10’s undercover villain Raquel Leviss recently checked into a mental health care facility. Raquel was never a huge fan-favorite on Vanderpump Rules but never caused too much drama either–that is, until recently. In March, it was revealed that Raquel had been part of a months-long affair with co-star Tom Sandoval, whose girlfriend Ariana Madix she was very close friends with. Tom and Raquel received a lot of backlash, including from their fellow Vanderpump Rules cast members.

According to ET, Raquel voluntarily entered a mental health facility. “Raquel and her family decided before the relationship was discovered that she would enter a voluntary facility for mental health counseling,” a source told ET. It has also been revealed that Raquel allegedly wanted to admit herself into the facility before filming the Vanderpump Rules season 10 reunion but did not because she felt she had to honor her contract. Raquel’s representative wanted to clear the air as well, adding that Raquel is not in rehab for substance abuse, that this is a different kind of facility.

Raquel Has Faced Online Backlash Since VPR Affair Reveal

Since the affair was revealed to the public, both Raquel and Tom have faced massive online backlash. Not only did Raquel break up a long-term relationship by sleeping with Tom, but when the affair occurred, she proclaimed that Ariana was one of her very close friends. Ariana trusted both Raquel and Tom, so she received a lot of support online, since everyone knew how hard this time in her life must be. Raquel turned off her Instagram comments since giving her statement on the scandal in order to combat the criticism she has received online.

Raquel is not the victim in this situation by any means, and neither is Tom, but facing massive online criticism can negatively affect someone’s mental health. It is good that Raquel’s family is supporting her in this time. It should not be expected for anyone in the Vanderpump Rules cast or people online to forgive Raquel just because she is going through a tough time. Frankly, she did not give the same love and care to Ariana when she was having her mental health challenges, since Raquel was sleeping with Ariana’s boyfriend.

It seems like the right move for Raquel to seek treatment at this time. It is hard for many people to imagine the mental state of someone that betrays their friend in that kind of way, so it is possible that Raquel really needs this counseling. Hopefully, Raquel is able to get the care she requires to understand why people are so upset with her and why her actions were not okay. Maybe Sandoval should seek out the same kind of therapy as well.

Vanderpump Rules airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
