Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent wishes to minimize her contact with her baby’s father, Randall Emmett, as they continue parallel parenting. The 31-year-old reality star called off her engagement to Randall, 51, in October 2021. Since then, she has made a series of allegations against the movie producer. Last month, Lala claimed Randall started having an affair with a 23-year-old woman in the month she gave birth to their daughter, Ocean. In addition, she claimed that when Randall was away with another woman, she thought he was busy with work.
Since their breakup, the reality TV star has tried dating again. Earlier this year, she went out with a mystery man, but the hangout was a one-time thing as Lala later claimed that he failed her background check. In the meantime, The Vanderpump Rules star is more concerned about Ocean’s welfare. The mother of one loves being a parent, although it can sometimes be challenging. During an interview back in December 2021, Lala noted that she and Randall were on a “little bit of a schedule” for then-9-month-old Ocean. However, while the two are working on co-parenting, Lala has been clear about her disapproval of Randall’s company.
Despite it being several months since their relationship went down south, it appears Lala has no plans to ever be on friendly terms with her daughter’s daddy. If anything, the TV star looks forward to a bigger rift. On Monday night, Lala appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and detailed her parenting arrangement with her former fiancé. On how Lala and Randall have been caring for Ocean, Lala said, “We parallel parents and I’m trying to move to zero contact. We’ll see how that goes.”
Parallel parenting is an arrangement in which divorced parents can co-parent without necessarily having contact with each other. This system is applied in parenting when the parties involved cannot respectfully communicate. Parallel parenting provides an opportunity for co-parenting, where the parents are disengaged from each other but remain fully connected to their children.
As things stand, Randall and Lala have a slim chance of having an amicable relationship in the future. Lala’s latest remarks show she is still angry at Randall and doesn’t want to have any contact with him. While the Vanderpump Rules celeb doesn’t look forward to being amiable with Randall, it is good that she has found a way to keep his relationship with Ocean intact without necessarily being on speaking terms. There is no doubt Lala is an amazing mother who dotes on her daughter. However, hope remains that her newfound co-parenting style is feasible for her, Randall, and Ocean.
