Vampire Survivors: How to Unlock Gains Boros

Vampire Survivors: How to Unlock Gains Boros

Gains Boros is a new secret unlockable character in Vampire Survivors. Gains Boros is described as a Dragon Shrimp character. It starts with the Heaven Sword, and it has impressive bonuses, so players looking to add more characters to their rosters or have a powerful new ally to fight the vampires should consider unlocking this new, fearsome creature in Vampire Survivors. There are other secret characters that players can unlock, like Exdash, Toastie, and Peppino.

All of the characters in Vampire Survivors have their own bonuses and stats; Gains Boros’ stats focus on Growth. Growth affects how much experience gems are worth, so players looking to level up their characters should focus on Growth as a passive bonus. Other characters have Growth bonuses, like Imelda and Gallo, but Gains does not have a cap on percentage boosts. This makes Gains Boros a powerful character, and one that players should find and unlock.

To unlock Gains Boros, players first need to gain access to Vampire Survivors’ Bone Zone map. This map needs to be unlocked, which requires completing Hyper Mode in some of the regular levels. Once players get to the Bone Zone, finding Gains Boros is relatively easy, although secretive.

Vampire Survivors: How to Unlock Gains Boros

To access the Bone Zone, players need to unlock Hyper Mode in three stages. This is easiest in the first three stages players encounter: the Mad Forest, the Inlaid Library, and the Dairy Plant. The Gallo Tower could also work. To unlock Hyper Mode, players need to defeat the bosses that appear at 25 minutes into the level:

  • Mad Forest – defeat the Giant Blue Venus
  • Inlaid Library – defeat Nesuferit
  • Dairy Plant – defeat the Sword Guardian
  • Gallo Tower – defeat the Giant Enemy Crab

Once players have satisfied three of these, and Hyper Mode is unlocked in Vampire Survivors’ maps, the Bone Zone map will be available. Go to the Bone Zone and head up from the spawn point. Eventually, players will reach a circle of flowers. Stand in the middle of the circle of flowers until the flowers disappear; players will hear a sound that means a secret character has been unlocked, and Gains Boros will be available for purchase. The circle of flowers also heals players 8 hp for every half second; even if the flowers disappear, players can still be healed here.

Gains Boros costs 666 gold in the Character Selection screen. Once players spend this money, they will be able to play as Gains Boros and benefit from his passive Growth bonus. If players use Limit Break, and use Heaven Sword with Gains Boros, they can quickly level the weapon in Vampire Survivors and it will become incredibly powerful.
