Valheim Player’s Tip: Building Is Easier If You Sit Down

A clever and simple strategy for easier building has made its rounds among the Valheim community after being revealed by a seasoned player. Valheim is a Viking-themed survival game that has taken the gaming world by storm, as its community and popularity continues to explode. One of the things that has made Valheim such a critical and commercial success is its addictive building mechanic that allows players to create wonderous structures. Opening up player imagination is one of the main components of the Valheim building system, leading to massive creations such as famous landmarks, impenetrable bases, and even castles built for kings and queens. Now, a secret tip has been revealed that makes achieving those feats of architecture much more possible.

Building in Valheim is a tricky endeavor, and while players have managed to replicate their wildest dreams, it is often a long and arduous task. Players have developed strategies to build incredible structures much easier, including additions like a spiral staircase build that opens up new strategies for base construction and tower building. Many players have taken to mods to help them achieve the unthinkable when it comes to building, but a tip recently introduced to the Valheim community helps construction in the vanilla game succeed.

Revealed in a post by Reddit user Turtle-Sage, building is much easier if players just sit down. Fans can take a seat when trying to add pieces to the underside of structures, which lowers the camera, delivering a better angle for essential piece placement. In the video, Turtle-Sage places wood beams on the underside of a large structure that is hanging over the side of a mountain. To add the support beams, the player simply sits down to move the camera accordingly and allow precision when placing the beams.

Handy Tip: You can sit down when trying to snap on to the underside of structures to lower the camera from valheim

The strategy is clever, but it is also the  first time many players have learned about the sitting feature in Valheim. Many Reddit users, including one with 260 hours in the game, asked the original poster how to sit down, and the answer was much simpler than they expected. By pressing x, the Viking will take a seat, and this will also grant them a resting bonus when done next to a campfire. The strategy is useful, and although massive builds will drop Valheim’s frame rate, players can still use it to construct bigger and better things.

There are a lot of strategies that can help increase productivity during Valheim builds, like utilizing portals to gather materials faster, and this newest tip gives much-needed versatility to camera angles. Many players know how limiting strict camera angles can be, and with this newfound flexibility, there is no telling what incredible builds will follow.
