Untitled Jordan Peele Movie: Release Date, Cast Speculation & Everything We Know

<

After it was revealed that Jordan Peele was working on a fourth movie, there has been much speculation as to what stars will join the cast and what the story details of this untitled project could be. The comedian has directed three hugely successful movies since the beginning of his filmmaking career, with his famous debut Get Out winning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. His other projects were Us and Nope, two other thrilling horrors that layer their stories with social criticism and deeper themes of race, identity, and family.

Jordan Peele made some of the best horror movies of the modern era, and it seems like his streak within the genre will continue for his fourth. In an interview with Deadline, Peele teased that his next project will be “a little bit of horror, a little bit of comedy”, much like his previous works. The filmmaker is beginning to master his own style that very few directors have managed to replicate, and with three huge successes under his belt, fans can only hope that his fourth will live up to expectations.

Untitled Jordan Peele Movie Latest News

The latest news regarding Peele’s upcoming horror/comedy arrived in March 2023 as Universal Pictures officially added an ‘Untitled Fourth Film Directed By Jordan Peele’ to its release calendar for December 25, 2024. The decision to refrain from naming his movie is typical of Peele, who has been equally secretive about every project that he’s released so far, wanting to maintain an air of mystery and anticipation around his film.

Jordan Peele’s next movie was given a vote of confidence from Universal Pictures, the studio involved in all three of his films. Praising Peele, a Universal spokesperson said “He is leading a new generation of filmmakers that have found a way to tap into the cultural zeitgeist with groundbreaking content that resonates with audiences of all backgrounds“. This mutual admiration between filmmaker and studio is rare, and it perhaps suggests that Peele will be given even more leeway with his newest opus.

The official confirmation for Peele’s fourth movie came in March 2023, but he’s been hinting towards it ever since Nope was released during the summer prior. The director has always been clear that writing and directing these social horrors is what he loves doing the most, so the announcement of another project wasn’t particularly surprising, but it’s still great news for everybody who enjoyed his previous works.

Jordan Peele’s newest movie will be released on Christmas Day, 2024. This is very strong evidence that Peele’s film will take place during the holiday season, as these release dates are often reserved for Christmas movies in most countries. Blending an uplifting holiday like Christmas with some kind of dark horror elements would be typical for Peele, who seems to explore the darker side of humankind throughout his filmography.

No cast members have been announced for Peele’s new movie yet, but the director has been known to use certain actors frequently. Daniel Kaluuya appeared in both Get Out and Nope, so he’s the most likely candidate for Peele to bring over to his new movie.

Get Out’s Lil Rel Howery has also spoken about wanting to collaborate with Peele again, and in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, the actor admitted: “you know, it’s funny, [Peele and I] almost had that type of conversation […] there’s going to be stuff in the pipeline. One thing I love about Jordan is it’s not going to be something that’s okay, when we do it, it’s going to be special.”

It’s impossible to guess exactly what the story will be about, but many fans have theorized that he may actually be creating a sequel to his 2018 smash-hit Get Out. Whenever asked about the possibility, Peele has always stated that nothing is impossible, but the director seems to be focusing on original projects for now. However, the decision to withhold the new movie’s title is definitely a clue that it could be something recognizable.

But with that in mind, there are plenty of reasons that Get Out 2 shouldn’t happen. Not only would it distract from the greatness of the original, but it would also prevent Peele from sharing the original stories that are clearly so close to his heart. Nobody knows exactly where the director is going with this new script, but announcements won’t be too far away, and everyone will soon know more about Jordan Peele’s untitled movie.
