What Happened In Undead Unluck Episode #22?
The training arc is officially over as the anime propels itself into high-stakes action
In Undead Unluck episode #22, “Profile”, before Fuuko could look into Andy’s oldest memory, Victor appeared to kill Fuuko and break Andy’s resolve enough for him to take back control of his body. Andy quickly appeared to protect Fuuko and fight Victor, but Victor’s millennia of experience with Undead made the fight one-sided in Victor’s favor. However, thanks to combining Unluck with his newfound understanding of Undead’s versatility, Andy defeats Victor after a long and arduous battle.
After the fight, it was revealed to Fuuko and Andy that Victor founded the Union alongside Juiz, his former lover, and wanted to kill her, so she’d stop struggling against God. Still, Victor gave up on that after seeing the potential of Unluck, and he decided to let Andy stay in control and find a way to defeat God. With that resolved, Fuuko kissed Andy to trigger a wave of Unluck that would send her back to her body, and as Andy’s book closed, he promised to woo Fuuko even better than before.
Undead Unluck Shows Off What Makes Its Power System So Great
The unique shonen series has proven time and time again that the cast’s abilities are just as fresh as they are strong
The best aspect of Undead Unluck episode #22 was its perfect showing of what makes the story’s power system so great. The Negator abilities give the cast a wide assortment of abilities, but rather than leave things at that, Undead Unluck‘s power system works by only being limited to what each person thinks is possible, and as Andy even points out, anything can be possible as long as someone believes it to be. It’s a power system that allows for an incredible amount of creativity, and that’s sure to show itself even further from Undead Unluck episode #23, onward.
