Ultimate BOTW Glitch Gives Bow Of Light When Starting Master Mode

A new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild glitch gives players the all-powerful Bow Of Light whenever they start a new game. Nintendo’s latest Zelda game is filled with many interesting secrets, tricks, and glitches for players to discover. Breath of the Wild‘s developers, even noted they intentionally left many of the technical quirks in the finished product to heighten the sense of discovery while exploring the vast realm of Hyrule.

Many of these glitches have been used to give players an edge in the quest to defeat Ganon or offer Link boosts when battling BOTW’s hulking Guardians, as well as letting players obtain the iconic Master Sword earlier than usual. Link normally only obtains Princess Zelda’s powerful Bow of Light right before the final boss battle against Dark Beast Ganon in Breath of the Wild. The weapon proves to be one of the most valuable tools in the game due to its high attack power, infinite supply of Light Arrows, and unending durability. Unfortunately, players lose the Bow Of Light if they continue to explore BOTW’s open world in the post-game.

However, a newly-discovered Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild glitch allows players to transfer all of their equipment (including the Bow of Light) to a brand-new save file, even when playing on the difficult Master Mode setting. YouTuber Gaming Reinvented details how this glitch works in their latest video (as reported by Nintendo Life), explaining that the player will first need to overload the game by arming one of BOTW’s bows with Shock Arrows, then dropping the bow and picking it back up again repeatedly. Next, they will need to hold between one and four different items at a time after Link becomes temporarily invisible, before picking the bow up again and selling the items in question. Once players do complete the long and tricky process, they will be able to transfer any BOTW items they wish into a new save file by placing them into the four inventory slots the previously sold items were in.

Gaming Reinvented notes that this item transfer glitch has a multitude of different uses, allowing players to begin a new Master Mode playthrough with valuable tools like Breath of the Wild’s Champion abilities or Link’s Glider available right from the start. Players can repeat the process over and over until all of Link’s inventory slots are affected, allowing them to carry over their entire arsenal and even stockpile ammo and consumable items by the thousands. Additionally, the normally one-time-use Bow of Light can be carried over by placing it in one of the glitched item slots right before the final boss battle, with the player exiting to the main menu to repeat the glitch process once last time.

While Breath of the Wild has no shortage of glitches that can help players become the most powerful being in Hyrule, this latest exploit could be one of the most useful and versatile bugs found in the game so far. With a year to go before BOTW’s currently untitled sequel is set to release on the Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fans will have plenty of time to try this newest glitch out for themselves and uncover even more secrets and tricks within the realm of Hyrule.
