Tyler Posey Feels “Robbed” After Masked Singer Season 10 Elimination Results In Onstage “Tension”

The Masked Singer season 10’s Tyler Posey spent two episodes performing as the energetic Hawk, and he now admits he felt “robbed” after his elimination from the mystery celebrity singing competition series. As Hawk, the actor and musician made his debut during Group B’s Elton John Night, during which he sang “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting).” He later went head-to-head in the Smackdown with Billie Jean King (Royal Hen), and won. However, on Harry Potter Night, after Tyler’s fun performance of “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” he once again found himself in the Smackdown, this time versus Tiki. Tyler was unmasked, while Tiki moved on to the Group B finals.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, Tyler explained that, at first, it was difficult to accept his Masked Singer season 10 elimination. He explained, “I felt a little robbed at first. So there was a little bit of tension on my side just because I was very competitive. I love giving it my all.” However, Tyler quickly realized he needed to change his mindset, adding, “But then, immediately, that washed away. I was like, ‘What am I doing? This is a fun TV show. There’s no point in being competitive and silly.’ I was able to drop that pretty quickly and acknowledge it and realize I am pretty competitive. I like that nature about myself.”

Tyler Posey Doesn’t Think Voters Accurately Judged His Performances

Tyler thinks his elimination might have been due to the audience voting for more traditional singers than overall showmanship. He explained, “I was trying to think of [the performance] as a whole. This isn’t The Voice; this is a show about performing everything mixed in.” Tyler confessed that he thought he could be “okay with not having this classically trained voice.” He added, “I thought I had it, so I did feel like there was something going on that I wasn’t aware of.” He’s not sure if there was “politics” involved, if he was being robbed, or “they were putting their attention on a certain element of the performance rather than the whole thing.”

During The Masked Singer season 10, Tyler did a fantastic job performing as Hawk. In fact, his performances were so strong that panelist Nicole Scherzinger’s final guess for his identity was legendary Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. Tyler really did seem like a rock star, and he achieved his goal of entertaining the audience by not only singing but also bringing dancing and his big personality to the Masked Singer stage. Tyler is in good company as some truly iconic performers have been revealed so far this season, including Demi Lovato (Anonymouse), Anthony Anderson (Rubber Ducky), Tom Sandoval (Diver), Michael Rapaport (Pickle), and Billie Jean King (Royal Hen).

Tyler impressed not only with his performances but also with his honest discussion about mental health in his clue package. He opened up about his feelings of depression after his mother’s death and spoke about getting help. Destigmatizing seeking help for mental health issues is so important, and The Masked Singer gave Tyler a platform to reach others who might be struggling. Tyler entertained as Hawk and brought awareness to an issue that many people face every day. Tyler’s openness was brave and admirable, and his performances were fun and exhilarating. He set the bar high for future performers on The Masked Singer. As Hawk, Tyler soared.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
