Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman Teams Up With The Arrowverse’s Batman In Exciting DC Show Art

Warren Christie’s Batman from Batwoman joins forces with Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman as they team up in Arrowverse fan art, becoming The CW’s own version of DC’s World’s Finest. While 2023 was the end of the DCEU movie timeline, 2024 marks the proper conclusion to The CW’s Arrowverse franchise. Superman & Lois, while set on a different Earth, is the last remaining Arrowverse multiverse series, with their final season airing later this year on The CW.

From all the big team-ups and crossovers that happened in the Arrowverse, Superman and Batman never got to share the screen. As this was a big setup in the Arrowverse that viewers wanted to see, Art of Time Travel recently shared new artwork of what it would have looked like if Hoechlin’s Superman formed an alliance with Christie’s Batman.

The Batman suit that is used in the Arrowverse artwork is the same costume that was seen in Batwoman before it was modified for Bruce’s cousin, Kate Kane. To this point, Batman has not been alluded to exist in the world of the Superman & Lois TV show.

10 Ways The Arrowverse’s Ending Is Better Than The DCEU’s

The Arrowverse and the DCEU have come to an end; however, the DC TV universe had a better ending than the movie universe due to some major factors.

Why Did Batman Never Properly Show Up In The Arrowverse?

Despite The CW having access to major players like Superman, Batman was always unavailable to the network due to Warner Bros.’ film division wanting to prioritize him for the big screen. It even took years before the Arrowverse could make simple references to Bruce, Batman, Gotham City, and his many rogues prior to the launch of the Batwoman TV show. This was also a continuous problem that Smallville faced, as they tried many times to get Bruce on the show, even without the costume.

The reason why Batwoman was able to actually have an actor cast as the face of the Arrowverse’s Bruce was specifically for the purpose of Hush’s storyline, as the villain replicating Bruce Wayne’s facial likeness provided a way to show what this version of Batman looked like without featuring the character himself. The only other time Christie appeared as any form of Bruce was during Luke Fox’s limbo state, which also wasn’t the “real” version of the character. If Batwoman season 4 had happened, it is unclear if the Arrowverse drama would have ever solved the mystery of Bruce’s disappearance.

Despite the movie division’s protocol, it is still a shame that the Arrowverse never got to use Batman at all, as it would been interesting to see how that creative team tackled him in this world. Unless Superman & Lois season 4 has a major surprise in store, Batman will sadly be one of the lost players that the franchise never got their hands on. As the Arrowverse closes its last chapter in 2024, it will truly be the end of an era, after over a decade run of superhero stories being told on The CW.
