There are a ton of secrets to discover in Tunic, including the locations and solutions for 20 Fairy chests. Finding these collectibles is necessary for unlocking the true ending in Tunic, and it will also lead to one of 12 Secret Treasures. In order to find all of the Fairies in Tunic, players will need to reach the end of the game so they have all the equipment necessary to obtain them. For example, the teleport dash is needed to reach many of the Fairies.
There are a few Fairies that can be collected at the beginning of Tunic, but a lot of them will need to be collected at the end of the game after unlocking the teleport dash ability. The instruction pages revealing the Fairy collectible guide also won’t be obtained until closer to the end of the game, so players may not even know they exist for a lot of their playthrough. Even after obtaining the pages containing information about Fairies, it can be difficult to find them because the text is mostly in a foreign language.
Revealing the chests that contain the Fairies can be one of the most difficult puzzles to solve in Tunic. The puzzle solutions can sometimes be hard to find, or they’re obscured by the camera angle. Many of the Fairies are also in secret rooms that are usually located behind waterfalls, under bridges, or just off-camera in open areas. While the Fairies can be difficult to collect in Tunic, they also provide a fair amount of content to enjoy at the end of the game.
Line Puzzle Solutions For Every Fairy Chest In Tunic
Collecting every Fairy is necessary for getting 100% completion in Tunic because the rewards include other collectibles in the game. For finding 10 Fairies, players will receive instruction pages 54 and 55, and 20 Fairies awards one of the 12 Secret Treasures in Tunic. The only way to unlock the true ending is to assemble the full instruction manual in Tunic, which makes collecting Fairies a requirement as well. Solving each Fairy puzzle involves either searching the manual for a solution or using the environment to identify the correct button combination. Once every Fairy is found, players can collect their rewards by returning them to the secret room behind the large waterfall west of the central save point in the Overworld.
- Fairy 1: There’s a square platform near the entrance to the Fortress of the Eastern Vault in the Overworld, and it has a purple flower and several white flowers. A path can be walked to connect the flowers and reveal the fairy. The input solution is up, left, down, left, down, left, down, left, up, right, down, right, right, down, right.
- Fairy 2: There’s a Fairy on an island across a wooden beam on the beach south of the Old House. From the pink flower, the solution is up, right, down, left, down, left, down, left, down, left, up.
- Fairy 3: In the Overworld, players can go to the platform beneath the West Belltower that leads to the Overworld entrance to the Quarry in Tunic. The pattern on the wall reveals the input code, which is up, right, up, left, down, left, up, left, up, right, down, right, down, right, up, left, up, right, down, right, down.
- Fairy 4: In the southeast part of the Overworld, beneath the bridge that leads to the Swamp, there’s a secret room to find. Inside, there’s a projection on the wall that shows the solution to be right, up, left, up, right, down, right, up, right, down, left, down, right.
- Fairy 5: The next Fairy is found in the room where the Fairies need to be delivered. It’s behind the second waterfall after heading east from the central save point and following the thin path behind the first waterfall. The input code is down, right, up, right, up, right, up, left, up, left, up, right, up, right, up, left, down, left, down, left, down, right, down, left, down, right, down, right, up, right.
- Fairy 6: Inside the Sealed Temple, there’s a line puzzle on the ground in front of the first statue. The solution is up, right, up, left, up, right, up, left, up, right, down, right, up, up, left.
- Fairy 7: From the top of the Mountain, there’s a hidden path to the right of the door that leads to the Quarry where the blue gem is found in Tunic. At the bottom of the stairs from the mountain path, the Fairy can be revealed by entering up, right, down, left, up, right, up, left, down left, up, right, right, down.
- Fairy 8: The teleport dash unlocked while completing the Cathedral is required for this Fairy, and it will need to be nighttime. The time of day can be changed by sleeping in the bed inside the Old House. From the Old House, players can go to the nearby warp point in Tunic then use the teleport dash to get to the platform on the far right. On the other side, the Fairy can be found by going past the telescope and taking the stairs north of the well. Teleport dash can be used to get on the pillars and go above the door to reach a previously inaccessible platform. The ghost at the other end of the platform reveals the puzzle solution, which is up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, down, left, up, right.
- Fairy 9: Just south of the Hero’s Grave in the Great Library, there’s a red rug with a line puzzle on it. The puzzle solution for this Fairy is up, left, down, left, up, right, up, left, up, right, up, left, down, right, down, left, up, left, down, left, up, right, up, left, up, right, up, right, down, left, down, right, down, left, down, right.
- Fairy 10: There’s a hidden room beneath the bridge to the Ruined Atoll, which is south of the knight with the green cape in the Overworld. The other side of the room has a line puzzle showing a code that opens up a new path. The solution is right, up, left, up, right, up, left, up, up, right, down, left, down, right, down, left, down, right. Inside the next room, there’s a tower with ladders leading to the top where players need to enter left, up, right, up, right, down, right, up, right, up, left, left, left, up, right, up.
- Fairy 11: While standing in front of the compass south of the East Forest in Tunic, players can collect a Fairy by entering left, right, down, up, up, down, right, left, up, right, down, left, up, down, right, left.
- Fairy 12: There’s a red banner with a line puzzle inside the Old House, and the solution is up, up, right, down, down, right, up, up, right, down, down, down.
- Fairy 13: From the central save point in the Overworld, players can take the stone ladder directly to the right, then follow the path north and go down the ladder to get to the secret room behind the waterfall. Past the chest in this room, there’s a Rudeling whose movements reveal the solution. The Fairy can be collected by entering down, down, right, up, right, down, left, down, right, up, right, down, down.
- Fairy 14: South of the central save point in the Overworld, where upgrades can be acquired in Tunic, there’s a fox statue with spiral stairs around it. Throwing an explosive at the wall at the end of the stairs will reveal a secret room. The cube inside shows the solution, which is right, right, right, right, up, up, up, up, right, right, right, up, up, up, right, right, up, up, right, up.
- Fairy 15: There are pillars directly west of the bridge that leads to the Swamp, and the teleport dash is needed to jump across them. From the beach, players can go west and into one of the game’s secret rooms under the bridge. The room has an invisible maze leading to a chest, and the pattern of the maze is the Fairy solution. The input code is up, left, down, left, up, right, down, right, up, right, down, left, up, left, up.
- Fairy 16: There’s a fountain with a pillar that contains an instruction page south of the Old House. A Fairy can be revealed here by entering down, left, left, down, up, right, down.
- Fairy 17: A Fairy can be found on a small island with a lone tree in the westernmost part of the West Garden. The area is marked by an arrow on the map on page 27. The solution is left, down, right, left, up, down.
- Fairy 18: From the Overworld entrance to the West Garden, players can follow the path until climbing down a ladder onto a large platform with a blue line puzzle. The Fairy can be revealed by entering up, right, up, left, up, right, up, left, up, right, down, right, up, left down, left, up, right, up, left, up, right, up, left, up.
- Fairy 19: In the Eastern Vault, where the red gem can be found in Tunic, players can go into the room west of the save point and onto the pillar surrounded by candles. The solution is right, left, down, right, up, left.
- Fairy 20: West of the fast travel platform in the East Forest, players can climb down a few ladders, then go east to reach a broken golden pillar. This solution comes from the pieces of the pillar scattered around the map. This Fairy can be collected by entering down, right, down, left, up, left, down, left, up, right, up, left, up, right, up, right, up, left, up, right, down, right, down, right, down, left, down, right, down, left, up.
