Tron: Ares has cast X-Files alum Gillian Anderson in the upcoming sci-fi sequel, the first casting update for the movie in six months. The upcoming film stars Jared Leto as the titular Ares, who crosses between the video game world and real life. Details of the story are currently under wraps, however production on the film has officially begun.
Now, Deadline has confirmed Anderson has joined the cast of Tron: Ares. The X-Files star – prominent now for her roles in The Crown and Sex Education – will be in an undisclosed role. News of her joining the project is the first casting update for the film in six months, showing that not everything about the movie’s production has been revealed yet.
