Top 10 Scorpio Protagonists In TV Shows

Top 10 Scorpio Protagonists In TV Shows

They may not be nicest of the Zodiacs, but they have been known to have a soft side. They’re stern, independent, and will fight with everything they have to fight for their cause. They’re intimidating by nature, but once you get to know them they make good friends, lovers, and mentors.

On the small screen, Scorpios are often the bad boys, the ones that don’t play by the rules or the ones that are the outsiders, naturally brooding and in endless angst. Let’s look at some of our favorite Scorpios from TV shows.

Oliver Queen/Green Arrow – Arrowverse

Top 10 Scorpio Protagonists In TV Shows

In the comics, Oliver Queen is more approachable and less violent, most likely a Capricorn or Saggitarius. But the Arrowverse rendition of the Emerald Archer took a darker turn and made Oliver more intimidating and gruff.

Like we know from the eight seasons, Oliver prefers to work on his own, even when the odds are stacked up against him and he has a hard time opening up to people. His true friends and family know Oliver is a little hard to deal with, but know he’s also a dedicated friend. He dies a hero and is remembered for paving the road for the rest of the heroes in the Arrowverse.

Chuck Bass – Gossip Girl (2007-2012)

Everyone’s favorite bad boy, Chuck Bass had an interesting character arc in Gossip Girl’s 6 seasons. First, he was an entitled brat that wanted everything done his way, talking down to those he felt he was better than.

As he matured and grew up, he became a more dedicated person but maintained the intimidating approaching scowl. He remained independent, only wasting his time on his friends.

Eliot Stabler – Law & Order:SVU (1999-)

Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler in Law and Order SVU

For over 12 seasons, Eliot Stabler was the bad cop to Benson’s good cop due to his erratic nature and stoic demeanor. He’s passionate about his job and he’s willing to do anything to get it done, even if it means going against his own squad.

He’s intense and a little bit intimidating but he’s a great partner and he’s loyal to the department he works so hard for.

Rosa Diaz – Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013-)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Rosa Diaz Stephanie Beatriz

Sticking to cops with a terrifying and intense personality we move onto Detective Rosa Diaz. As one of the main members of the squad, she has extreme methods of catching the bad guy. She prefers to work alone and pretty much scares off anyone she comes into contact with.

Even to her friends, she’s fiery and unapproachable, with sarcastic remarks and a glare that could kill.

Buttercup – Powerpuff Girls (1998-2005)

Sugar, spice, and everything nice…We know where the spice comes from. Buttercup, unlike her sisters, is a lot rougher around the edges and is the alpha of the group. She may look sweet but she is more than capable of tearing off your arms and hitting you with them.

As a true Scorpio, she’s cold and independent, and with a temper you don’t want to see. She’s anything but a buttercup.

Stewie Griffin – Family Guy (1999-)

The youngest member of the Griffin family and the smartest by far, Stewie thrives on proving his point and looking smarter than everyone. He’s an inventor, a traveler, and a little bit of a mixed bag but you won’t know that unless your friends with him

As a Scorpio, he’s prone to degrading insults, he prefers to only work with close friends or in this case his talking dog, and he has a soft side only a few have seen.

Dexter Morgan – Dexter (2006-2013)

Dexter Morgan Wrapped Up

Dexter is a very tough man to read and his scowl tells you, he’s not interested in talking to you. Before Joe Goldberg in You, Dexter Morgan was the charming and charismatic serial killer we all grew to love except Dexter did it with much more enjoyment.

He got away with by working with the very people that are supposed to be stopping his murderous spree. Like Joe, he does it all of the necessity, letting his emotions control rather than his logic.

April Ludgate – Parks & Rec (2009-2015)

April Ludgate became an instant favorite due to her teenage angst and negative outlook on life. She’s not a team player and she’s constantly off doing her own thing without regard for anyone else.

As we grew to know April and after she married Andy, we saw the devoted side to her, a side only brought out by the special people in her life.

Jessica Jones – Jessica Jones (2015-2019)

Jessica Jones

Jessica Jones is very unlike her MCU counterparts for various reasons. One, she prefers to work alone and undercover, dealing with small-time cases and working her way up. Second, shes extremely unapproachable, instilling more fear than relief whenever someone is in her presence.

Sure we grow to love the sarcastic and outspoken Jessica, but that’s what makes her unique and a great small time detective.

Mickey Dobbs – Love (2016-2018)

Rounding off our list is the always moody and hot mess called Mickey Dobbs. When we first meet Mickey, she’s arguing with a store clerk and cussing him out before Gus comes in to save the day. Mickey always has to prove her point and get it across and she is the most outspoken in the show, clearly wearing the pants in the relationship.

She can be a loving girlfriend and friend but it takes a lot of effort and it’s something she prefers not to do. She is also a very emotional and passionate individual, stirring drama and controversy even when she’s not trying to.
