Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Transformed By Tom Hardy’s Venom In Gritty MCU Crossover Art

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man gets transformed by Tom Hardy’s Venom in gritty fan art that imagines the characters meeting for the first time. While Holland’s Spider-Man resides in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hardy’s Venom was the first protagonist of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. Despite its name, the SSU does not feature a version of Spider-Man. The closest Hardy’s Eddie Brock has ever come to Spider-Man was through Venom: Let There Be Carnage‘s post-credits scene, in which he was taken to the MCU, and Venom licked Peter Parker’s face on a TV, with the characters never properly meeting.

On Instagram, digital artist @psychboz rectifies that mistake, bringing Holland’s Spider-Man and Hardy’s Venom together through deadly fan art.

The fan art — titled “Venomverse” — sees Venom trap Spider-Man, with the symbiote attaching to Peter, who wears his black and gold suit, as Venom gets ready to bite his head off. Hardy’s Venom fighting Holland’s wall-crawler after being absent for all MCU Spider-Man movies, save for a post-credits scene, would be exciting, and Spider-Man 4 could make that finally happen.

Can Venom Appear In Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4?

Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s post-credits scene saw Hardy’s Eddie Brock be sent back to the MCU before meeting Holland’s Spider-Man. However, a piece of the Venom symbiote stays behind, teasing that Peter will don the famous black suit in the future. As Venom: Let There Be Carnage revealed that all the symbiotes have a shared consciousness, Eddie could be alerted by Peter coming into contact with the symbiote in the MCU, which would be quite the thrilling story for Spider-Man 4.

Spider-Man 4 should continue the dark tone of Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s ending. After a mostly vibrant trilogy, Peter Parker was at his lowest point in the MCU at the end of Holland’s third Spider-Man film. Aunt May is dead, Ned and MJ do not remember who Peter is — as is the case for Happy Hogan, the Avengers, and the whole world after Doctor Strange’s spell — and the character is now living in a small apartment all by himself. With no loved ones and no access to Stark tech for his Spider-Man suits, Peter has now gone back to basics.

Spider-Man 4 could continue on that route, with Peter’s negative headspace leading itself well for the symbiote to bond with him. With no one to make him back down, that is where Hardy’s Venom could come in. As the symbiotes share a hive mind, Eddie could still remember that Peter Parker is Spider-Man despite being present in the MCU during Doctor Strange’s spell. Venom and Spider-Man could then fight, with Peter taking off the suit by the end. With Marvel’s Multiverse Saga ending when Avengers: Secret Wars releases in 2027, Spider-Man 4 is the best place for an SSU Venom and MCU Spider-Man crossover.
