Titans: 5 Best New Season 2 Costumes (& 5 We Still Need To See in Season 3)

Titans: 5 Best New Season 2 Costumes (& 5 We Still Need To See in Season 3)

Titans had a big second season that continued to flesh out the universe of the Teen Titans, both the old and new generation of the group. As the history of the first incarnation was explored, we began learning more about this version of the iconic young heroes. But as the heroes’ background was revealed more and more, the same happened for one of their most dangerous opponents: Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke (Esai Morales.) With the first season having done its world-building, season 2 was allowed to start being more comic book-y which included a lot of new super-costumes. Having seen the high quality of the Robin, Hawk and Dove costumes in season 1, the new additions this season did not disappoint.

However, while some did get phenomenal costumes by the time season 2 ended, there are still several ones that have yet to get their super-suits. With season 3 now confirmed for fall 2020, we can only hope some of these characters get some shiny new looks. Having said that: it’s time to look at the 5 best new costume reveals from season 2 and the 5 characters who still need to get their suits.

STILL NEEDS COSTUME: Raven

Titans: 5 Best New Season 2 Costumes (& 5 We Still Need To See in Season 3)

When it comes to Rachel Roth a.k.a. Raven (Teagan Croft), it’s almost frustrating that she didn’t end up with a suit by the end of this season. As more information has been coming out about the original season 1 finale, it turns out that Rachel was actually getting herself a Raven-themed costume. It is still really unclear what caused so much from the original finale to be reworked, which included scrapping several completed costumes. Will that Raven costume not be used when Rachel eventually takes on her heroic persona? Is a new look being designed for season 3? Either way, they better get their youngest hero into a costume by the end of next season.

Aqualad

The Titans iteration of Aqualad stands in full costume in a bunker

While he didn’t survive beyond his first episode, Garth a.k.a. Aqualad (Drew Van Acker) brought the iconic water hero to life in the latest season. Even though the costume was created just to be worn for one episode, the Aqualad costume is still remarkable, having a combination of old school feeling and also fitting with the show’s overall look. If Titans ever decide to bring in Kaldur’ahm, maybe he can take on the suit and make it his own with a few changes here and there.

STILL NEEDS COSTUME: Beast Boy

When it comes to Gar Logan a.k.a. Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), it’s a mystery if there even is a costume for him. Out of all the heroes that were seen in the released BTS photos from the original finale, Gar is the only one to not have a suit. Currently, he is still sporting the hoodie that has an alluding resemblance to the Beast Boy costume from the comics. As he continues to explore his powers and eventually grows into a hero as Beast Boy, Gar is going to need a costume without a doubt.

Ravager

Ravager fights Hawk in Titans

One of the new villains to be introduced who then became a hero of the group was Rose Wilson a.k.a. Ravager (Chelsea Zhang.) While it took a bit before she got her costume, the Ravager outfit is one of the most accurate suits that have ever been brought to screen. From all the minor details to the bigger ones such as the mask, it’s remarkable how well that costume translated from page to screen. It’s still a surprise that the Ravager mask’s eye came with the iconic white eye which is rare with most costumes that come with masks.

STILL NEEDS COSTUME: Batman

Bruce Wayne Titans Episode 7

It’s no secret that Iain Glen’s Bruce Wayne definitely has a Batman costume or two in his bat-cave. However, it doesn’t change the fact that the only suit fans have gotten to see is the cheaply made version from the season 1 finale. If Bruce does return in season 3 and we actually get to see him as Batman, even for just a minute or two, they need to produce one phenomenal Batman costume that fits with the other suits on the show.

Deathstroke

Deathstroke at night in Titans

Similarly to Ravager, it’s incredible how advanced and accurate the Deathstroke costume ended up being when seen on-screen. It’s almost impossible to choose which is better, the helmet or the bodysuit. One thing is for sure and that is that it definitely doesn’t look comfortable to wear. That’s we give a lot of props to Morales for making that costume look easy to wear anytime he was suited up. While he may have died in the finale, we doubt that’s the last time Titans have seen Slade as well as that amazing costume.

STILL NEEDS COSTUME: Blackfire

Komand'r lands on Earth in Titans

Blackfire (Damaris Lewis) was introduced towards the end of season 2 as Starfire’s (Anna Diop) villainous sister. With the news that she will be a series regular in season 3, we are suspecting that she will be the principal antagonist. Now that she is on Earth and set to have a bigger part in the upcoming season, Blackfire is going to need a costume as well.

Wonder Girl

Titans season 2 Wonder Girl

Despite the tragic fact that Donna Troy (Connor Leslie) a.k.a. Wonder Girl was killed off in the season finale, we can’t forget how amazing her costume was. After teasing it during her first episode in season 1, fans finally got to see her in action more than once in season 2 and showcasing the outfit.  Out of the looks that Donna has had in the comics, this is the better Wonder Girl costume. It has a solid combination of looking a bit old school but also has a modern feel to it at the same time.

STILL NEEDS COSTUME: Starfire

Just like Rachel, Kory Anders was also supposed to have a costume in the original season 1 finale. In fact, photos have come out of Diop sporting two different costumes from that episode. There was even a BTS-featurette early on in season 1 that spoiled one of Kory’s Starfire looks. With that many costumes existing, it’s insane how Kory didn’t even get one of them in season 2. If she is going to take on Blackfire head on next season, she better get at least one of those costumes by that point.

Nightwing

Brenton Thwaites As Nightwing - Titans

After waiting patiently for almost two full seasons, Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) finally became Nightwing and got his new super-suit. The Nightwing costume is, without doubt, the best-designed suit in the entire series. What makes the costume stand out the way it does is the perfect layer of the blue logo that was also applied to go down the arms, similarly to many designs in the comics. While we could have spent an entire hour watching Dick kicking butt with that costume, this is something we look forward to seeing more of in the third season.
