Tiny Toons Reboot Coming To HBO Max, First Look Released

A Tiny Toons reboot is coming to HBO Max, and the first look has been released. Amblin Entertainment and Warner Brothers’ legendary Tiny Toon Adventures first invaded TVs back in 1990 and starred many loony and adorable characters, including Babs and Buster Bunny, Plucky Duck, and Hamton J. Pig. Initially conceived as teenage micro-versions of the classic Warner Looney Tunes like Bugs and Daffy, the Tiny Toons would very quickly climb out of the shadow of their predecessors, becoming 90’s pop-culture icons in their own right.

News coming directly from Amblin Entertainment revealed that the new Tiny Toons will be airing on HBO Max. Receiving a two-season, straight-to-series order right out of the gate, the show is being called Tiny Toons Looniversity. The beloved teen toons will be returning to their “esteemed institution of higher hijinx learning” under the tutelage of their legendary professors in a furthered pursuit of that fabled Toon Degree.

The original Tiny Toon Adventures ran for three seasons and had two minor spinoffs. The first was The Plucky Duck Show in 1992, which were mostly Plucky centered, rerun episodes of Tiny Toons. The second came in 1998 with Pinky, Elmyra, & The Brain. Running for just 13 episodes, the show joined the young, dim-witted, female homage to Elmer Fudd with the two scheming lab mice from WB’s other famed series, Animaniacs. The now newly announced reboot will be the first original program featuring the principal Tiny Toons characters in nearly 30 years.
