Tiny Tina’s Wonderland’s First DLC, Coiled Captors, Adds New Boss Chums

New Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands content is on the way, introducing new locations, loot, and a new boss-type known as Chums. The Borderlands spin-off is packed with content to uncover, as it carries over the satisfying looter-shooter gameplay of its predecessors while shaking up the formula in various ways. Tina Tina’s Wonderlands even has illusory walls like Elden Ring, which offers a unique exploration experience.

Although Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands already has heaps of content to discover, the fact that it launched with a Season Pass primed players to expect more down the road. The first-person shooter’s formula is a mix of what can be found in both traditional western RPGs and looter-shooters like Destiny and the original Borderlands releases. Because of this approach, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has no shortage of options when it comes to unlockables, cosmetics, secrets, and locations to explore. All of these options will be expanded by future DLC, which will introduce a number of new environments, enemy types, and collectibles, further expanding Tiny Tina‘s massive list of duplicatable items.

The first of four planned Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands DLC packs, known as Coiled Captors, was announced today, detailing some of what it will be bringing to the table. A trailer shared on the Borderlands YouTube channel showed off some of the flashy and powerful fantasy-inspired gear that will be coming as part of the DLC, along with new enemies and a new location known as Dreamveil Overlook. One of the more notable inclusions touched on in the trailer was the new Chum boss, which appears to be a god-like shark enemy with an inflation device about its rear fin. These enemies will evolve into three different forms with each playthrough of the challenge, each form being more powerful than the last.

This rogue-like content will surely come as a welcome addition for any who enjoyed Tiny Tina’s Wonderland‘s Chaos Chamber, as it looks to provide a greater challenge for players looking to test their mettle. The Chum boss was a big focus of the trailer, which suggests that it will play a major role in the overall experience of this DLC. If the Chum can provide unique, difficult gameplay opportunities that evolve over time, there’s a good chance they will be popular with the fans.

Coiled Captors is only the first of four DLCs for the game, so it will be interesting to see how future expansions build upon this framework or take things in a completely different direction. This DLC is coming less than a month after the game’s initial launch, so the other three might not be too far behind.

Coiled Captors will be coming to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands on Thursday, April 21.
