Timothée Chalamet Becomes The Perfect Terry McGinnis In Stunning Batman Beyond DC Art

New DC fan art pitches Timothée Chalamet as the beloved superhero Terry McGinnis, a.k.a. Batman Beyond. Over the decades, several talented actors have played Batman in live-action, as many have brought Bruce Wayne to life in TV and film. However, one version of Batman that has yet to appear in any live-action property is Batman Beyond’s Terry, following his rise to fame through the animated TV show, which eventually brought him into the world of DC Comics.

While many actors have taken on superhero roles, many fans are waiting for Timothée Chalamet to take on a DC Universe role. Kibar.Art shared new artwork of their ideal actor for a Batman Beyond live-action project, which in this case would be Chalamet.

The Batman Beyond artwork by Kibar.Art shows Chalamet as the futuristic hero in the iconic costume with Neo Gotham City behind him. Outside of his own Batman Beyond TV show, Terry will next be seen in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two, with Will Friedle reprising the role.

Will Batman Beyond Finally Happen In James Gunn’s DC Universe?

With the rise of James Gunn’s DC Universe, it begs the question if this could finally be the franchise that brings a Batman Beyond movie to life. As of right now, Terry doesn’t appear to be part of their initial plans, as Gunn and Peter Safran announced only a handful of DC Universe movies and TV shows in January 2023. Whether or not Batman Beyond could be part of Chapter 1, “Gods and Monsters,” remains to be seen as there are a lot of other projects they have yet to announce.

For the time being, DC Studios’ only Batman focus is the upcoming The Brave and The Bold movie, which will focus on Bruce Wayne and Damian Wayne’s father/son relationship, as well as The Batman franchise under the Elseworlds banner. However, given how much attention a pitched Batman Beyond movie gained recently when concept art emerged online, perhaps it got on DC Studios’ radar to the point that they may consider tackling such a project down the line.

Given the rich stories that exist within the Batman Beyond concept, DC Studios will hopefully take advantage of it and bring it to the big screen at some point. Once the new DC Universe has gotten up and running, Batman Beyond will ideally be able to fit into their plans, especially as a fun way to explore what that continuity looks like in the future timeline. Until then, the DC audience can relive Batman Beyond through streaming and on Blu-Ray/DVD.
