TikTok Down: Invalid Parameters & Zero Follower Issues Strike Again

TikTok Down: Invalid Parameters & Zero Follower Issues Strike Again

TikTok appears to be down right now for a number of users and it remains unclear what exactly is causing the problem or when it is likely to be fixed. This is not the first time TikTok users have experienced an app outage, but with a user base as substantial as TikTok’s, any downtime has the potential to affect a large number of users, regardless of how widespread the issues are.

TikTok has quickly emerged as one of the more popular social networking and video-uploading services around. Although it is far newer than Instagram and others, the video-sharing service has specifically struck a chord with younger users. In some instances, this has raised concerns surrounding the service. Although TikTok has found itself routinely fighting other battles as well and, on occasion, even with governments.

A number of users have recently taken to other services, including Twitter using the #TikTokDown hashtag, to confirm they are currently unable to access the app or features. Similarly, Down Detector is reporting a sudden increase in the number of user complaints, suggesting the problems first started a little after 12 p.m. PDT. TikTok has officially commented on social media by responding to user complaints, confirming that it is aware that users are experiencing problems and that it is actively working on a fix.

Issues TikTok Users Are Encountering

Generally speaking, most users seem to be pointing to a general inability to access the app or some of its features. In some cases, there are reports of users encountering an “invalid parameters” message when attempting to perform certain actions. This is not an uncommon issue for TikTok, and is one that can also apply to other apps and services as well. Essentially, invalid parameters means the system doesn’t understand the command and can be in reference to a number of different actions a user might perform while using the app. For other users, they might encounter an issue where likes, follows and followers are all listed as zero. Once again, this is not an isolated incident, considering TikTok users have encountered similar zero-related problems in the past.

As is often the case with app issues like these, they are usually fixed in due course. In other words, there is not much affected users can do right now, other than wait for TikTok to confirm that the various problems users are experiencing have been resolved.
