This MCU Hero Returns to Fight Vampires as Marvel’s Massive BLOOD HUNT Begins

The Avengers are gearing up to face one of the hardest (and bloodiest) fights yet as they fend off a vampire attack in Marvel’s huge Blood Hunt event. Luckily, they have a solid team of heroes to face off against the blood-suckers, including the expert archer, Hawkeye. Kate Bishop’s West Coast Avenger days are behind her, and it is full steam ahead to fight the undead.

Hawkeye graces two covers for the upcoming Avengers #14, showing off her sharpshooter skills for the Blood Hunt tie-in. The variant cover by Chris Bachalo depicts her solo, while the main cover by Joshua Cassara reveals that she’s part of Captain America’s vampire-fighting Avengers team.

BLOOD HUNT TIE-IN! NEW TEAM LINEUP DEBUTS! With the current Avengers tied up and under siege during BLOOD HUNT, Captain Marvel calls for aid – and who better to assemble a new team of Avengers than Steve Rogers? Captain America gathers the forces of Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Hercules and Hazmat to take on the hordes of vampires attacking all over the world. And when they encounter an organized army of vampires in uniform led by a surprise villain, it gets personal!

This is a marked change from Kate’s days of leading the West Coast Avengers on her own, and she has a chance to show off her skills as part of a more experienced team. With the fate of the world at stake, Kate is moving up to the big leagues and joining Cap, Quicksilver, Hercules, and Hazmat for a round of monster hunting.

Hawkeye is the Perfect Addition to Blood Hunt

Kate Bishop Hawkeye stands in a volley of arrows on Avengers Blood Hunt cover.

Blood Hunt promises to be an epic battle that pulls in heroes from all across the Marvel Universe, and they’re going to need every advantage they can get to fight the tide. Fortunately, bringing Hawkeye on board means they’re already one step ahead. Kate Bishop is one of the keenest shots around and her talents are incredibly versatile. She’s an amazing archer, capable of picking off large numbers of enemies from afar, but she’s more than able to hold her own in a melee fight.

Few young heroes can claim as much training as Kate Bishop. While she started as a self-trained archer, she has worked closely with several Avengers (most often with Clint Barton), led her own team, and even got her start with the universe-saving Young Avengers. She does not need to rely on superpowers, and she’s already shown she knows how to make trick arrows, which could certainly be modified for monster-killing purposes. In short, she more than carries her weight as a hero and her particular skill set is perfectly suited to hunting vampires.

The Avengers Need to Be Resourceful to Survive Blood Hunt

Hawkeye fires trick arrows.

The Avengers have fought cosmic foes and been in the middle of enormous, universe-altering battles more than once, but Blood Hunt requires a new kind of thinking. They’ll be facing scores of foes that presumably can make more of themselves, creating a full onslaught of vampires. To win, they’ll need to be quick on their feet and think just as fast. Kate Bishop does both, making her an asset to her new team in the monstrous world they’re facing. Hawkeye is returning just in time to help the Avengers make it through Blood Hunt.
