The Boys star Erin Moriarty will be quitting Instagram after being the target of criticism by former Fox News host Megyn Kelly. Moriarty stars in The Boys as Starlight, a superhero who works for the Vought corporation and is a member of the vaunted team The Seven. The show has been a major hit for Prime Video and regularly critiques modern American media through the veil of Vought PR campaigns.
Ahead of The Boys season 4, Moriarty now believes that she has been the target of a real-world Vought-like campaign by Megyn Kelly. After Kelly’s YouTube channel released a video claiming that Moriarty had undergone plastic surgery, Moriarty took to Instagram to announce that she would be leaving the platform. In the post, Moriarty claims that she has never had plastic surgery and that she has been experiencing “verbal abuse” as a consequence of the accusations. Frustrated and distressed by the alleged attacks, she will now be leaving social media entirely. She later edited the post to add the following:
“I’d like to correct one piece of information in an effort to be the one who is not reporting false information to say that Megyn Kelly is no longer with Fox News.”
