There’s One Batman Skin MultiVersus Absolutely Needs To Add

Batman is one of the many characters in MultiVersus lucky enough to have an unlockable costume, but the Dark Knight deserves to have another one in particular. Players can unlock a number of different cosmetics for the roster in MultiVersus by progressing through battle passes or using its premium currency – Gleamium – to purchase them directly. The Caped Crusader currently has one unlockable look based on his design from Batman: The Animated Series, but given the game’s focus on late ’90s and early 2000s cartoon nostalgia, it would make sense for his suit from Batman Beyond to arrive at some point too.

MultiVersus had its soft launch earlier in August and has gotten off to a flying start in terms of popularity, with 20 million players having logged time on the game by the end of the month. Season 1 of the game has also commenced, with DC Universe anti-hero Black Adam and Stripe from Joe Dante’s Gremlins films set to join as playable characters. A number of future additions to the game have also been leaked, with developer Player First Games able to call upon Warner Bros.’ expansive library of characters to add to its crossover brawler.

Although the suit from Batman: The Animated Series is legendary, Batman Beyond‘s also deserves a spot in MultiVersus. Batman: Arkham overthought the Batman Beyond costume, but MultiVersus‘ cartoony style should help it transition to the game more seamlessly. As with Jake’s Cake skin, a skin for Batman based on Batman Beyond could also bring with it a change in voice actor, and it would be great to see Will Friedle reprise the role from the cartoon. Throw-in the addition of new ring-out animations, banners, and icons, and a small Batman Beyond package could pack plenty of Toonami-nostalgia for MultiVersus players.

Batman Beyond Deserves To Have A Skin In MultiVersus

There’s One Batman Skin MultiVersus Absolutely Needs To Add

This isn’t the first time a Batman Beyond skin would make it into a video game, but it would be the first time Friedle would voice Terry in one. Fans would also finally be able to experience what it would be like for Bruce Wayne and Terry McGinnis to face off in a video game. There would also be room for Kevin Conroy and Will Friedle to exchange some banter again just like they did back in the original animated series. MultiVersus features plenty of famous actors, and reuniting Friedle with Conroy would be a golden opportunity for great in-game exchanges. Shaggy has unique dialogue when he fights Uncle Shagworthy (his alternate skin) so the same should apply to Bruce and Terry if Player First Games looks to Batman Beyond for inspiration.

There’s currently no word on if Batman will receive any future skins in MultiVersus, but given the popularity of the character and the focus on classic WB animation, it would be wise to expect more to come at some point. Regardless, the Dark Knight’s presence in the game is likely to expand in the future, with the Joker heavily rumored to be coming as a playable character. Other DC characters are sure to come to MultiVersus, so here’s hoping that one of them will be Terry McGinnis.
