The Witcher 3 Model Builder DLC Lets You Paint Your Favorite Characters

A new DLC has been released for Model Builder that will allow players to use models of characters from CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077. Model Builder, released in February 2022, is a simulation game that allows players to build, customize, and paint various models, offering an immersive crafting hobby experience. The game’s story has the player being left an old workshop by their grandfather, after which they take on the journey of becoming a “master modeling craftsman.”

CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher franchise, an adaptation of a book series by the same name written by Andrzej Sapkowski, has been ongoing since the release of the first game in 2007, with the most recent entry, The Witcher 3, having gained critical acclaim and commercial success. Now, with the announcement of a new Witcher game trilogy, the series is set to continue into the foreseeable future, along with a new Cyberpunk game and an entirely new IP from CD Projekt Red. With both of CDPR’s current major franchises still going strong, the developer seems to be looking outside of its own games for yet more opportunities.

Model Builder has received a new DLC expansion, adding models of characters from The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. The DLC includes five new models, each with their own respective quests in-game, as well as new painting schemes. Character models of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri from The Witcher, and Johnny Silverhand and Alt from Cyberpunk 2077, are included in the DLC.

Model Builder DLC Includes Fan-Favorite Characters from Cyberpunk and The Witcher

With more on the way for both franchises from CD Projekt Red, including a patch 1.7 for Cyberpunk 2077, it may not be too surprising that the developer is branching out in collaborations like this. Geralt, at least, is no stranger to appearing in other games, having been a guest character in Soulcalibur VI, and Cyberpunk 2077 has even received a full tie-in anime series, Edgerunners. Now that more games are on the way for both series, as well as a future DLC, Phantom Liberty, for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red may not be done with cross-media promotions for its two major franchises.

Fans of CDPR’s games and model-building enthusiasts alike may not want to miss out on the new DLC for Model Builder, as it allows for a detailed and faithful look at some of the most iconic characters from The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. Additionally, with CDPR’s recent major announcements, fans can look forward to more from the developer, including a new CDPR game that isn’t Witcher or Cyberpunk, but an entirely new IP. While fans wait for more news, however, Model Builder can give a detailed look at some of CDPR’s most beloved characters.
