The Unseen Trailer: Breaking Bad’s RJ Mitte Is Targeted By An Evil Force [EXCLUSIVE]

Breaking Bad‘s RJ Mitte is under attack from something evil in the first The Unseen trailer. Internationally distributed by the team behind the viral hit horror movie Terrifier 2, the upcoming film centers on a law student who, after being hired by a firm, finds himself losing his mind in a twisted web of murder and deceit awakened by a supernatural force from his past. Alongside Mitte, the cast for The Unseen includes Christian Stolte, William Mark McCullough, Jennifer A. Goodman, Sue Cremin, Candice Rose, Kimberly Michelle Vaughn, Ava Bianchi, and Rebekah Kennedy.

With just over a month remaining until its release, Screen Rant can exclusively present the first The Unseen trailer.

The video, as seen above, introduces Mitte’s struggling law student as he tries to find a path for his future without the help of his successful father. His efforts will be hindered as he begins experiencing a series of haunting visions, seemingly with ties to a dark secret from his family’s past.

How The Unseen Continues Mitte’s Representation Efforts

Mitte first rose to popularity on screen with his turn as Walt Jr. in AMC’s Breaking Bad, in which he shared his character’s real-life condition of cerebral palsy and, as such, was able to portray it authentically. In addition to scoring rave reviews for his performance as the son of Bryan Cranston’s rising drug lord, Mitte also became a voice for actors with disabilities in Hollywood, with the Screen Actors Guild naming him as said spokesperson for them and going on to be the representative of Inclusion in the Arts and Media of Performers with Disabilities.

The first The Unseen trailer looks to be continuing Mitte’s representation efforts, albeit through a more subtle lens than his work in Breaking Bad. Though not utilizing crutches, there are still a few signs that he’s bringing aspects of his condition to the character, including how he lays while trying to sleep. Writer Jennifer A. Goodman has indicated bringing her experience as a person on the autism spectrum to Mitte’s character, as well, opening a variety of paths for healthy representation of underexplored voices.

Even outside of its representation possibilities, the first The Unseen trailer teases plenty of chilling imagery and a mysterious story sure to capture the attention of horror genre fans. Considering it garnered the attention of the sales team behind Terrifier 2 and Gravitas Ventures, the studio behind such hits as Sound of Violence and Jug Face, there looks to be some confidence behind the film as it heads into its June 30 theatrical and VOD release.
