Janelle Went For The Shield In The Graveyard Mission
As a competitive and social threat, Janelle knew that it would be smart for her to gain safety at every possible chance, getting the first shield in the game despite criticism from other faithful. During The Traitors US season 2 episode 3, the contestants competed in a mission that found them running from a spotlight as they searched for gold and safety in a pitch-black graveyard. The mission was difficult, and with the competitors struggling through it was clear that if a shield was found, it would be a privilege for whoever got it. While digging through one of the graves, Janelle spotted a shield and lunged for it.
Ekin-Su Was Looking For A Shield Of Her Own
While digging through the graveyard on her own, Ekin-Su was doing her best to accumulate funds for the group and search for safety if she could find it. At the same time that Janelle spotted the shield in the grave, Ekin-Su saw the beacon of safety and went for it. Though she didn’t appear to be the first to go for the shield, it was apparent that she thought she was. She attempted to shove Janelle out of the way and grab the shield, but the Big Brother alum didn’t let go and managed to keep it from The Traitors US season 2 star Ekin-Su.

After the competition, Janelle and Ekin-Su unpacked the incident between them in their separate rides back to the castle. Janelle, irritated that she had to deal with the entire situation, explained that Ekin-Su tried to snatch the shield away from her. While Ekin-Su was in her own car sharing the opposite story, the playback from the mission made it clear that Janelle had reached the shield first and was the rightful winner of safety from the traitors murder of the evening.
