The Sinner, which is an anthology crime drama mystery, premiered in the year 2017, with a story that was based on a novel of the same name by a crime writer named Petra Hammesfahr. In the year 2018, the second season aired, and in March of last year, a third season was announced.

Hope: It Starts With A Bang
So many factors go into whether a series is a success or not, and the first impression is very important. Since The Sinner has been on for a couple of years, it does have a leg up against the rest of the competition.
However, it will have to bring something new, and it will have to start with a bang; viewers don’t want the same story (just with a few characters swapped out), nor do people want a slow, dragged-out introduction. Based on past episodes, we can bet that that will not be the case here… We hope!
Know: It Is Coming From A Talented Team
The third season of this show will feature Derek Simonds as showrunner and an executive producer, Jessica Biel as an executive producer and Adam Bernstein as an executive producer and the director of the first two episodes, which are titled “Part I” and “Part II”.
In 2018 and 2019, this show was nominated for several notable awards. Bill Pullman and Jessica Biel were up for Best Actor in a Movie/Miniseries at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. The show itself received a nomination for Best Miniseries or Television Film at the Golden Globe Awards. Bill Pullman was up for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. And more success is expected from this talented team.
Hope: It Receives More Nominations & Some Awards
In show business, nominations are great, as they tell the world that this story was seen and heard and appreciated (either by fans, critics or both).
And since The Sinner was nominated several times during Seasons 1 and 2, we are hoping for a three-peat. But let’s take it further. Let’s see some wins secured, as well! That is our hope and wish for this series and this season.
Know: It Will Focus On Detective Ambrose & A Car Accident
On this series, Bill Pullman portrays Detective Harry Ambrose. Season 1 showed him helping Cora Tannetti, Jessica Biel’s character. Season 2 showed him working on a case that involved a boy named Julian Walker, played by Elisha Henig. And Season 3 will focus on him investigating a fatal car accident.
So far, it is known that the accident took place in Upstate New York and that there is much more going on, which is usual for this series.
Hope: It Is Full Of Surprises
We won’t post any spoiler alerts, for those who *GASP* have not seen Seasons 1 and/or 2 of The Sinner yet, but we will say that they had some real surprises in them. The stories were already exciting, and then something new and thrilling and shocking was thrown in, to take it all up a notch.
That is what we want and need from Season 3.
Know: It Will Star Bill Pullman & Matt Bomer
As mentioned, Bill Pullman is the star of this show, as he has been seen since the beginning. This season will also introduce new characters, including Jamie, an expectant father portrayed by Matt Bomer.
Additionally, Chris Messina will play Jamie’s friend, Nick Haas; Jessica Hecht will play Sonya; Parisa Fitz-Henley will play Leela Burns; and Eddie Martinez will play Vic Soto.
Hope: It Shows Seasoned Celebs In A Whole New Way
This series is doing it correctly when it comes to casting: There are and have been well-known names associated with the project, like Jessica Biel and Bill Pullman. Each year, there are other notable names added to the roster, as well as some rising stars.
Therefore, we are excited to see Pullman in this role he plays so well again. We are excited to see actors like Matt Bomer and Chris Messina in a whole new way. And we are excited for these supporting characters to be in the spotlight, too, as Jessica Hecht was previously Gretchen Schwartz on Breaking Bad and Susan Bunch on Friends and as Parisa Fitz-Henley has played Reva Connors on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.
Know: It Will Bring The Drama
So, Season 3 will center around a car accident, but, as fans of this show know, Detective Harry Ambrose will surely uncover much more during his investigation. The trailer shows Jamie, Matt Bomer’s character, all bloody after the wreck, as well as Nick, Chris Messina’s character, acting a bit strange. After the twists and big reveals in Seasons 1 and 2, there is no telling where this story will go… and we can’t wait to find out either.
Hope: It Is A Success
We know when it will start, and we have our wishes for that first episode. We know the team that is delivering this project, and we are hoping for awards and nominations for them. We know the premise, and we can’t wait to see it all play out on television. We know the stars of the show, and we are excited to see them all. And overall, we hope that Season 3 of The Sinner is a success!
