Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Jenna Dewan, and Shawn Ashmore. The franchise recently experienced a setback with the cancellation of The Rookie: Feds, but the main show is still going strong.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter confirms that The Rookie has been renewed for season 7 at ABC. This comes as the procedural recently celebrated its 100th episode, with its ratings still going strong. The show’s season 6 premiere garnered 11.92 million viewers over five weeks in cross-platform viewing. This marks the best single-episode performance for The Rookie since October 2018.

The same is true for Will Trent, which has built up its buzz in its second installment.

The Good Doctor and Station 19 are ending with their current seasons, while sitcoms Not Dead Yet and The Conners await their fates. Although it’s somewhat expected that The Conners will be renewed for season 7, it is in an uncertain position in the long term due to its status as a veteran series. Shows cost more as they continue, partly due to salary increases for the cast and crew. That reportedly played into the decisions to end The Good Doctor and Station 19.
