The Real World: London — Where Are They Now?

The Real World: London — Where Are They Now?

MTV’s The Real World took the groundbreaking reality show international for the first time in 1995. The cast consisted of seven young people from all over the United States and Europe. Like the seasons before it, all seven inhabitants of the London flat had vastly different backgrounds and perspectives on the world, which led to drama and disagreements between the housemates.

Since leaving the Nottingham Hill flat, The Real World – London cast has gone on to have careers as successful actors, television creators, and entrepreneurs. The fourth season of MTV’s longest-running show can be streamed on Paramount+.

Kat Ogden

When she entered the house, Kat Ogden was a college student with a gift for fencing. Kat became a topic of conversation in the house when her housemates felt she secretly had a romance with roommate Neil. Kat struggled with finding people she genuinely connected with while in London despite her perceived romance. Kat would work with MTV again but despite her athletic background, she was not one of the best players in The Challenge for her season.

Kat still works in television and has worked on several shows as a second assistant director. According to her Instagram, she is now a mother and enjoys rollerskating in her free time.

Neil Forrester

The Real World: London — Where Are They Now?

Neil Forrester was the combative and antagonistic house member of season 4. He made it known to everyone around him that he wasn’t a fan of people in general but especially Americans, which caused tension between Neil and his US-based cast members. Neil famously got a bit of his tongue bitten off on the show by a heckler at one of his band’s performances. Neil and Kat developed a relationship that appeared to extend beyond just being friends despite having a girlfriend.

Neil has taken himself out of the spotlight and works as a full-time academic. He also produces art that reflects his thoughts and feelings on the world.

Jay Frank

Jay Frank was more reserved than the other members of the London flat. Jay worked as a playwright in the United States, but he could not work while in England due to the visa he received. Despite his visa restrictions being out of his control, his fellow roommates thought he was lazy and shouldn’t stay in the house because it was a waste of his time. He remained in the house until the end of the season and would leave questioning what he wanted out of life.

According to his Twitter, Jay worked as a news anchor before stepping away to focus on his wife and child. He continues to work as a writer and actor.

Mike Johnson

Like The Real World: New Orleans cast member Jamie Murray, Mike Johnson came from a privileged background. Mike came to London with hopes of finding sponsors to fund his racing career outside of his father’s connections. That tense relationship was put on display during the show. Mike’s perception of English citizens shifted throughout the show as he learned about the authentic culture of London. Mike spent most of his time in London exploring the nightlife.

Since the conclusion of the show, Mike has started Archangel Motorsports, which has gone on to win several championships in the racing world.

Lars Schlichting

Lars Schlichting was the only German member of the London cast. Lars worked as a deejay and spent his days looking for promoters to hire him at the London clubs. Like Dominic on The Real World: Los Angeles, Lars was the one to bring problems to his other flatmates’ attention, like the phone bill that became a point of contention within the house. Lars would continue to fight with his other housemates when his bike was stolen.

According to his Instagram, Lars now works as the director of product planning at Pioneer DJ and in artist relations.

Jacinda Barrett

Suits Jacinda Barrett

Jacinda Barrett was well established in her modeling career when she entered the London flat. As the only Australian on the show, Jacinda brought a different perspective to the house. She was also somewhat of a menace in the house as she was fond of playing pranks on her fellow housemates and often annoyed them with her lack of consideration for others’ space and cleanliness. Even though it is not against The Real World House rules, Jacinda brought a dog into the house that her roommates detested.

Since leaving the flat, Jacinda has retired from the modeling world and now works as an actress in Hollywood. She has appeared in several movies and the USA Network series Suits.

Sharon Gitau

The Real World season 4 cast in London

Sharon Gitau (top row, middle) was the talkative singer-songwriter of season 4. Sharon took some time to settle into the house as she wasn’t used to being around men due to her mother raising her alone and her male family members living outside of the United Kingdom. Sharon was one of two cast members who resided in England full-time. Sharon has difficulty finding work that she enjoys outside her music career and bounces to different jobs during the show.

According to Sharon’s website, she now works as a full-time singer-songwriter, producer, and composer. She has worked with serval well-known music artists as a background singer and has worked on soundtracks for companies such as Disney Channel and MTV.
