Both Barbie and Oppenheimer were among the highest-grossing movies of 2023, so there’s no denying that both films left an impact. When it came to the Oscars, one was the clear winner — but as Gosling and Blunt’s moment on-stage concluded, the other excelled in a different area.
Gosling and Blunt’s 2024 Oscars presentation settled the score between Barbie and Oppenheimer, confirming that both movies involved in the Barbenheimer feud had different strengths. Christopher Nolan’s biopic got more Oscars nominations than Barbie, which was obviously a winning argument at the ceremony in question. However, Barbie still grossed more than Oppenheimer at the box office.
