There is no question about it, The Muppets have used the most unique approach to film promotion this year. A couple of well-done parody trailers raised awareness by piggybacking on other high-profile films in a clever and fun way.
Well, we didn’t want to miss out on all the fun, so we went out and made our own Muppet parody trailer: The Muppet Avengers.
This one seems almost obvious. In fact, don’t be surprised if The Muppets actually launch a trailer parody of Marvel’s Avengers movie – especially since both films are coming from Disney. With such a large cast and a variety of characters, The Muppets are in certain ways an assembly of heroes on their own. But put that company of puppets with the trailer for The Avengers and you have something else entirely – furry superheroes!

As you can see, we gave each character their own Avenger – just how we did it in the Toy Story 3: Inception trailer (which now has over 3 million views!). It’s amazing how easy it is to match mouth movements when that mouth belongs to an animated or puppet character. They are not exact, but very close.
While it seems obvious to make the Incredible Hulk match up with Kermit the Frog, there just wasn’t enough there. So Kermit is Iron Man, Miss Piggy is Nick Fury and everybody else fills in their respective roles. We left a little surprise at the end for the Incredible Hulk moment.
