The Morning Show season 3 has already covered a great deal, with numerous plot twists, shocking reveals, and plenty of trials and tribulations. With the large ensemble cast and many storylines, there’s a lot that The Morning Show has to juggle in its episodes, but season 3 has already been a great improvement from the past season. The Morning Show season 3, episode 6 was an example of how the series manages to move the plot forward, develop its characters, and keep audiences on their toes with even more reveals.

9 Paul Marks Is Buying UBA

The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 6 Recap: 9 Biggest Story Reveals

The Morning Show season 3, episode 4 ended with Paul and Alex dramatically arriving via helicopter at Cory’s house for the UBA Upfronts after-party. Alex had spent the episode trying to revive the deal between UBA and Paul, and it must have worked, as The Morning Show season 3, episode 6 opened with the news that Paul is going to be buying UBA. The deal hasn’t been officially closed yet, but plans are already being made for change under the tech titan. This deal will surely save UBA from financial ruin, which also means Cory won’t have to accept Fred’s loan.

8 Hal Wants To Turn Himself In For Attacking An Officer On January 6

Following the reveal of what Cory and Bradley were hiding in The Morning Show season 3, Hal visited Bradley in New York City with his wife and their baby girl. What started out as a nice family trip quickly turned into a nightmare for Bradley when Hal told her that he intended to turn himself in for assaulting a police officer during the January 6 Capitol Attack. Naturally, Bradley didn’t want him to do this, not just because it would ruin her brother’s life, but because it would surely implicate her and Cory even though Hal genuinely believed his telling the truth would have no legal consequences for his sister.

In an attempt to deter Hal from going to the police, Bradley invited him and his wife to one of her tapings for UBA Evening News, during which she interviewed a man who’d been arrested for storming the Capitol. He expressed his regrets and shared how much he’d lost since January 6, showing Hal the difficult future he’d be facing if he turned himself in. Unfortunately for Bradley, Hal saw right through what she was doing, and his guilty conscience outweighed his fear.

7 Alex Interviews Paul On Alex Unfiltered

Paul Being Interviewed By Alex In The Morning Show Season 3.jpg

Despite Alex being the one who pushed Paul to reconsider his deal with UBA in The Morning Show after the fallout with Cory, she had her own questions and concerns about his potential ownership of the network. Having been at The Morning Show for 20 years, Alex has seen first-hand the negative impacts of having unfit people in positions of power, and given her somewhat newfound responsibility to make UBA the best network it could be, she understandably wanted to be involved in the deal. After Cory turned down her request to interview Paul on Alex Unfiltered, she went straight to the subject.

Paul has notoriously not done interviews and has even said that he has an issue with journalism and wants to save the news industry, which is part of why he is investing in UBA. Still, he surprisingly agreed to be interviewed by Alex in The Morning Show season 3, episode 6. Paul told Alex that he understood doubts from her, the public, and UBA’s shareholders, but it also appeared as though his feelings for her played a part in his saying yes to the interview.

6 Paul’s Past With Stella Is Revealed In His Interview With Alex

It was revealed earlier in the season that Paul and Stella already knew each other in The Morning Show, but the true depth of their past wasn’t made clear until season 3, episode 6. In preparation for Paul’s interview on Alex Unfiltered, Chip and Isabella were tasked with digging into his past for anything that could potentially hurt his reputation. Despite her clear anxiety about doing so, Stella finally shared the truth with Chip, which Alex grilled Paul about during their interview all while keeping Stella’s identity anonymous.

Stella had developed a code for activism purposes while working in one of Paul’s startup incubators, but they weren’t able to get anyone to buy it. Paul then decided to buy it himself for a relatively cheap price, and after making Stella sign an NDA, he turned it into a billion-dollar product that was eventually used for police surveillance and racial profiling. Though Paul apparently hadn’t been aware of this in The Morning Show, this led to Stella attempting suicide and leaving the tech industry. Though Paul gave a sincere, apologetic reaction on Alex Unfiltered, it offered a sad and surprising look into Stella’s backstory.

5 Laura Visits Hal & He Changes His Mind About Turning Himself In

The Morning Show season 3, episode 4 saw Laura and Bradley begin to patch up their relationship, having broken up about a year before season 3 started. Bradley and Laura went out to dinner together in The Morning Show season 3, episode 6, but Bradley was distracted by Hal’s impending confession and told her ex-girlfriend that she didn’t want to drag Laura into her mess and left dinner early. Given the past mistakes she’d made in their relationship, Laura assumed that her previous judgment of Hal was holding Bradley back from trying again.

This led Laura to privately visit Hal and ask him to support their relationship if she and Bradley got back together again. It was a rare moment that displayed Laura’s vulnerability and humility, as she revealed that all she wanted to do was make Bradley happy, and she believed she could do that. This clearly had an impact on Hal as he soon decided to leave New York and keep quiet about assaulting the officer on January 6, likely not wanting to ruin the potential future Bradley could have with Laura in The Morning Show season 3.

4 Alex & Paul Hook Up In The Morning Show Season 3

The Morning Show season 3, episode 4 showed off Paul and Alex’s chemistry during an unofficial date at Coney Island, but episode 6 saw them act on it. The sexual tension between them was evident from the start of the episode, with Paul doing little to hide his affection for the anchor. Following the intimate interview, when Alex and Paul were the only ones left in his Hamptons home, they had a charged conversation that quickly turned into a hookup.

Alex hasn’t had an official love interest in The Morning Show since she and her husband divorced in season 1, which makes her and Paul even more interesting. However, there are certain implications of them hooking up now that Paul is purchasing UBA and is going to be in a position of power over her. Alex’s sexual history with Mitch was exposed in The Morning Show season 2 to disastrous effects, and if they’re not careful, the same could happen if she and Paul’s budding relationship became public knowledge.

3 Chip Proposed To Isabella & She Said No

Chip & Alex At A Diner In The Morning Show Season 3.jpg

The Morning Show season 3 premiere found Chip in a new, serious relationship with Isabella, Alex’s assistant/UBA’s director of development. Though they seemed happy together, things took a turn in The Morning Show season 3, episode 6 when Chip excitedly gave up their romantic plans to do research for Alex’s interview with Paul. It only worsened when Paul flirted with Alex during the interview, suggesting that something more than friendly was happening between them, making Chip visibly jealous and uncomfortable.

It’s no secret that Chip is in love with Alex in The Morning Show, but he’s dated multiple women across the seasons despite this. When Chip proposes to Isabella on the car ride back from Paul’s, she says no. Chip is taken aback by the rejection and asks her what she wants, to which Isabella replies, “I want you to ask because of me, not because of her.” Even without naming her, it was clear she was referring to Alex, as it’s always been and always will be Alex for Chip understood. After a year together, Isabella sadly realized she wasn’t much more than a consolation prize to Chip.

2 Bradley & Laura Get Back Together

While one couple was being torn apart in The Morning Show season 3, episode 6, another was finally finding their way back to each other. After Hal left with just a note telling Bradley he’d changed his mind, Bradley showed up at Laura’s apartment and apologized for her behavior at the dinner they had earlier in the episode. Bradley once again told Laura how much she missed her, but this time she didn’t hold herself back and kissed Laura.

All signs throughout The Morning Show season 3 were pointing towards them getting back together, but it doesn’t mean that things will necessarily be smooth sailing for the couple from here on out. Though they’ve grown in their time apart and still love each other, Laura doesn’t know the truth about Hal, which could cause some issues for their relationship in The Morning Show if it were to ever come out. Hopefully, Bradley can eventually be honest with Laura and things will be better the second time around, but it’s yet another big obstacle for them to overcome.

1 Paul Wants To Fire Cory & Replace Him With Stella

At the end of The Morning Show season 3, episode 6, Paul found Stella watching the footage from his Alex Unfiltered interview, and they were able to finally talk about what happened when she was a Stanford student. She told Paul that she planned to quietly quit her job as head of UBA News, but Paul wanted her to stay. In fact, he told her that he wanted her as his CEO and that he intended to fire Cory in order for her to take over his position.

This shocking development would cement Cory’s downfall in The Morning Show season 3, which has been impending practically since he first got the promotion after Fred was fired in season 2. Paul has never really approved of Cory’s messy business methods, but he revealed to Stella that the reason he was interested in UBA in the first place was her, not Cory. Stella hasn’t made her decision yet, but if things go according to Paul’s plan, it will definitely flip The Morning Show on its head.
