The Masked Singer season 3 contestant and country music singer Hunter Hayes sent a special message to current finalist the Bull. Hunter appeared on the singing competition show in early 2020 for the show’s third season. The singer performed as the Astronaut and made it through eleven weeks before being unmasked at the end of week 12’s episode. Hunter wowed judges and fans every week singing popular songs like Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and One Direction’s “Story of My Life.” When it came down to six contestants, Astronaut was sent home.
Bull has been a fan favorite throughout season 6, and judges seem conflicted over who may be hiding behind the mask. While panelist Nicole Scherzinger was confident David Foster and Katherin McPhee were behind the Banana Split costume, none of the panelists seem so sure about Bull’s identity. However, Nicole did hint at having an idea of which performer is in the costume; however, she chose to keep her guess to herself so the other panelists couldn’t steal it. Bull has proven himself as a performer to the judges and fans and has quite the stage presence. He’s taken the stage to sing hits like Britney Spears’ “Circus” and “Rain on Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. Bull will go up against Queen of Hearts for the masked trophy in the season finale.
Bull got some love and encouragement from The Masked Singer‘s former Astronaut in a quick video shared by TMZ. The singer seemingly shot the video on an iPhone, congratulating Bull on making it to the finale and letting him know from one contestant to another that it’s not an easy feat. Hunter added, “I’m excited that the world is hearing your voice and your message.” Hunter wished Bull luck, adding that he knows he doesn’t need it since the Bull has been praised all season long for his performance skills.
TMZ always revealed that Bull will be performing Hunter’s song, “Invisible,” during the finale. The former contestant thanked Bull for choosing his song and explained he wrote the tune about “being seen and being loved for who we are.” While panelists have guessed the Bull might be celebrities like Billy Porter or Jason Derulo, fans have been theorizing all season long that the Bull is YouTuber and Broadway star Todrick Hall. While Hunter may not know who Bull is, he definitely understands his message of authenticity and acceptance. Hunter concluded his video by saying, “sending you all the love and all the best, go crush it.“
Bull is certainly a seasoned performer, and it’s nice to see that a former contestant has such kind words to say about him. He brings an energy to the stage vastly different from what fans have seen in prior seasons. With his talent and stage presence, it would make sense if Bull is someone who has performed on Broadway once or twice. Fans could certainly be correct in their guess that Todrick Hall is behind the costume. Whoever it is, fans can get excited to see Bull honor The Masked Singer alum, Hunter Hayes, with his season finale performance.
