The Mandalorian’s New Mission Sets Up An Unexpected Ally’s Possible Return

The Mandalorian’s New Mission Sets Up An Unexpected Ally’s Possible Return

Din Djarin and his new apprentice, Grogu, will return in The Mandalorian & Grogu, and one of their more unlikely allies could return to help them battle the threats they’ll face. At the end of The Mandalorian season 3, Din agreed to begin hunting down Imperial remnants for the New Republic. While there are still few confirmed story details for The Mandalorian & Grogu, it seems likely that the movie will continue his hunt for the Imperials.

Din and Grogu forged many new alliances in The Mandalorian, and they have had to call upon them for help in the past. With friends like Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, members of the New Republic, other Mandalorians, and beyond, the father-son duo usually had all the help they needed. Their new movie will put them into more danger than ever before, though, and one of their more unlikely allies could be the best option for their new mission. He was perfectly suited to tracking down their target, and The Mandalorian left the door wide open for his return.

Migs Mayfeld Is Now An Ally To Din Djarin

Migs Mayfeld began as an antagonist to Din in his first appearance in Chapter 6: “The Prisoner.” The two worked as hired guns together to free a prisoner, but Mayfeld and the rest of the crew betrayed Din and left him for dead. Later, Din found him again and asked him for help infiltrating the Imperial remnant base on Morak, due to Mayfeld’s history of serving the Empire as a sharpshooter. Mayfeld helped, and he and Din left Morak as allies, which could mean that he would be willing to help Din again in the future.

Mayfeld May Be Able To Help Din Locate & Fight Imperial Remnants

Hunting down Imperial remnants is a task easier said than done. After the end of the Galactic Civil War, many of them scattered across the galaxy and went into hiding. Mayfeld would be instrumental in that fight, as he still had knowledge of secret Imperial bases and their protocols, which would be incredibly useful in finding them. He has also proven himself to be extremely skilled in combat, and he could turn the tide of battle in favor of Din and Grogu.

Mayfeld’s rough demeanor would also provide The Mandalorian & Grogu with an interesting plot device to explore the relationship between Din and Grogu further. Mayfeld was quick to provide sarcastic remarks and jabs at any and everything, especially Din. Responding to his remarks could give insights into how close the two had grown while adding more tension to whatever conflict the movie provides. Mayfeld’s inclusion in The Mandalorian & Grogu could not only help Din and Grogu complete their mission, he could make the movie even better.
