Technology has come a long way since the dated sci-fi movies of the late ’70s and early ’80s. The new televised version of The Man Who Fell To Earth–originally a film starring David Bowie– is much more detailed, painting a world that viewers feel like they could step right into.
With a cast of vivid and complex characters, this show has everything from an extraterrestrial to a fiery grandpa–and much more in between. Naturally, when viewers watch a show, they may be wondering which character is most like them–and the twelve zodiac signs of the horoscope are a great way to find out.
Aries/Capricorn: Justin Falls
From the moment she enters the frame, Justin Falls is on the move. She barely sits still or rests for the entirety of the first two episodes, showing off her Aries-like energy levels. Taurus/Virgo: Drew Finch
Requesting that dessert be served first at a restaurant perfectly matched the straightforwardness that Tauruses are known for, and that’s exactly what Drew Finch does. She even announces, “Dessert first is saying yes to life” as the waitress brings her and Spencer plates of cheesecake. The small action oozes luxury, a classic Taurus passion.
Finch is very different from actor Kate Mulgrew’s most famous performance as Red on one of the best LGBTQ+ shows with a female showrunner, Orange Is The New Black. Where Red is cold and calculated, Finch is–seemingly–warm and maternal, which is very Virgo. She gently guides Spencer to do what she wants him to do and offers to help him with what he needs.
Gemini/Aquarius: Faraday
The two versions of Faraday that viewers are given couldn’t be more different. The first glimpse is of a tech tycoon giving a presentation to an audience of adoring fans. The next is an alien plummeting to Earth that can barely string a sentence together and tries to eat a hose. But, Faraday adapts quickly to Earth, using his Gemini nature to be a flexible and fast learner.
Equally, Faraday is an altruist, which is a trademark Aquarian trait. His mission is to save his people from a horrible fate, and Aquarians have ingenuity and enthusiasm that they use to create a better tomorrow for the world–or whatever world they are from.
Cancer/Leo: Josiah Falls
Josiah Falls shows a lot of Cancer emotionality–not to mention a quick wit and tongue when someone disagrees with him. He also loves music, and Cancers are inherently artistic because of their water-element nature. He is a firecracker, even if he’s a senior citizen and dealing with illness, and Cancers can’t be kept down.
Likewise, Josiah embodies the Leo spirit when he confidently shoots insults at the other seniors. He’s also no stranger to having the spotlight on him. Audiences also find out that Newton was also an Anthean, and came to Earth years before Faraday’s arrival–but never returned. His journey was the subject of the The Man Who Fell To Earth film, which was David Bowie’s best-ranked performance. His adventurous and flippant nature is characteristically Sagittarian. Sagittarians love to go to new places and find new identities for themselves, like Newton does.
Capricorn/Scorpio: Spencer Clay
There’s not much that fans know about Spencer Clay currently–only that he’s a workaholic government official. The first viewers see is Clay working in a dark and empty office long after everyone else has left, which is very Capricorn-esque. It’s also heavily implied that he’s working well below his capabilities, and his Capricorn ambition to do more shows.
Not only is Clay elusive about what happened in his work history, which is emblematic of his Scorpio secrecy, but he’s also very brave, another Scorpio trait. He traipses into the woods by himself to find a scientist-turned-recluse and is taped to a chair and held at gunpoint. However, he’s clever and thinks on his toes, getting the doctor to talk and saving his own life.
Libra/Pisces: Molly Falls
Molly is a bright and shining light and she can make any situation warm and comforting, a classic Libra talent. She is friendly to everyone equally. She can also deftly make any argument or tense encounter instantly more light-hearted, proving that she has Libra diplomacy.
Additionally, as the baby of the family, she is also the baby of the zodiac: Pisces. Pisceans love to be at home with their family, and their family values are very important to them. Molly has a lot of love for her grandfather and mother and is very proud of their achievements. She even brags about how intelligent they are to Faraday.
