The Last Of Us Part 1’s Delayed PC Release Date Is Actually Perfect

Originally a PlayStation 5 exclusive, The Last of Us Part 1 is coming to PC soon, though the team at Naughty Dog has recently announced that the port will be delayed a couple of weeks, to release on March 28 rather than March 3. The successful HBO adaption of The Last of Us has recently garnered a lot of new attention to the game and therefore this PC release has been greatly anticipated. The delay is a good thing, however, and is thankfully not too long of a wait. There have already been three released versions of TLOU, including a remastered version and Part 1, which can understandably be confusing for newcomers to the series. The PC port of TLOU Part 1 comes at a good time to help direct incoming players to know which is the most current version of the game, as well as being more accessible by no longer being exclusive to PS5. Fans may be disappointed by this delay, yet in the long run, there are many reasons why this makes the most sense for the game.Related: Why There Might Not Be A Last Of Us Part 3

The Last Of Us Part 1’s Delayed PC Release Date Is Actually Perfect

The recent success of The Last of Us television series sparked renewed interest for the game with people who have previously not played it but are now enjoying watching the show. The last episode of the HBO series will air on March 12, which would previously have been after Steam and the Epic Games Store would have allowed people a way to play The Last of Us Part 1 on PC. With the delay to March 28, newcomers can now see the conclusion before they jump into the game and see what has changed.

Delaying Will Ultimately Make The Last Of Us Part 1 Even Better

As with every video game delay, although it may be frustrating for players to have to wait, giving the developers more time to make the game itself even better is ultimately a wise move. This generally means the finished product will have fewer bugs, be more polished, and have less performance issues upon release. Naughty Dog’s official statement on Twitter states the company wants the PC version to debut in the best shape possible, which fans would likely appreciate as well.

Having The Last of Us Part 1 on PC delayed is a smart decision, allowing fans to finish watching the HBO series before jumping into the game and possibly seeing some spoilers for the show, whether on purpose or not. The Last Of Us remake’s gameplay will also get to be even better for having the extra couple of weeks available for developers to work out the bugs. New as well as long-standing fans since the beginning won’t have to wait long until The Last of Us Part 1‘s release on March 28, and get to fully enjoy the HBO show in the meantime.
