The Justice League’s New Leader Will Blow the Mind of Any DC Fan

No longer vigilantes, they’re now an FBI squad made up of Diana Prince, John Stewart, Wally West, a newly recruited Bruce Wayne, and are being led by Lex Luthor. It’s unlikely that this version of Lex is going to be a force for good, which means the heroes of White Knight are currently poised to battle a Lex Luthor who is in full command of the Justice League, a bigger threat than he’s ever been.

The White Knight universe has been playing around with a lot of character histories to give readers brand-new looks on familiar heroes and villains. One of the biggest examples of this was the reveal that Bruce Wayne isn’t actually a Wayne in Curse of the White Knight, that his family had simply stolen the name. Twists like this aren’t uncommon in the White Knight universe, another major one being splitting the Joker into two defined characters, akin to Two-Face and Harvey Dent. There’s the Joker fans know, and Jack Napier, a separate good personality. Now it seems that writer Sean Murphy is gearing up to give the Justice League the same treatment, with the team now an FBI squad under the leadership of Lex Luthor.

The White Knight heroes have gone through a number of enemies, Joker, Azrael, Derick Powers, and it seems they’re finally going to be going up against Lex Luthor next. But this Lex isn’t exactly the same readers are so used to. While the main comics Lex Luthor is undeniably dangerous, he’s never commanded the Justice League to do his bidding so completely before. While it’s true characters like Wally West, Diana Prince, and John Stewart don’t seem to have their iconic powers, that may not last forever, considering Luthor’s brilliance. The ending of Generation Joker shows Lex Luthor’s Justice League finding the first example of Kryptonite. The reasons why Luthor wants Kryptonite is unknown, considering Superman hasn’t been seen in White Knights universe.

Lex Luthor Has Plans for His Justice League

White Knight Lex Luthor

Lex Luthor is one of the most intelligent and dangerous characters in the DC Universe, but White Knight has positioned him to be more dangerous than ever. White Knight has been a surprisingly grounded take on these characters, with iconic superheroes such as Diana and Wally not having their typical powers. This means taking down Lex Luthor is going to be harder than ever. Without the use of superpowers, characters like Batman will have to finally beat Luthor on a level playing field, which might not be so easy with Lex Luthor commanding this universe’s Justice League.
