The Greatest Showman Soundtrack is Getting a Reimagined Remix Album

The Greatest Showman will be receiving a new remix album called The Greatest Showman – ReimaginedThe Greatest Showman was released last year and is based on the true story of Phineas Taylor Barnum, an American showman who became a worldwide sensation and crafted the Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Jackman was cast as P.T. Barnum all the way back in 2009, but it seems as if his other films got in the way of him working on The Greatest Showman. After his casting announcement, Jackman stayed busy reprising his role of Wolverine for the X-Men series and also acted in films like Real Steel and PrisonersEventually, progress started moving on The Greatest Showman with actors such as Zac Efron joining the cast, along with Zendaya and Rebecca Ferguson. The musical – with songs by Justin Paul, Benj Pasek and Greg Wells – opened in December 2017 and even though The Greatest Showman got mixed reviews, the film was an Oscar nominee for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song). With the popularity of the music in the film alone, a remix album seemed inevitable, and it is coming next month.

The Greatest Showman Soundtrack is Getting a Reimagined Remix Album

Even though The Greatest Showman was a passion project for Jackman, it was hardly the first musical he had been in. Jackman starred in the 2012 film Les Misérables alongside Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway, which won three Academy Awards. The Australian actor has also gotten back into Broadway by performing in the productions The River and Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway.

Even though the film didn’t get outstanding reviews, a “Reimagined” album seems like a safe bet. After all, the soundtrack has had an amazing run already this year and even became the first million-selling album in the U.S. in 2018. The Greatest Showman may have had flaws when it came to developing the supporting cast or even just depicting Barnum in an accurate way, but the film still had an incredible soundtrack. Even after the film came out, fans were still willing to listen to the series of songs on repeat. Now that even bigger musicians got on board to make the album a reality, people will more than likely be interested in the remix album.
