The Golden Bachelor Season 1 & Bachelor In Paradise Season 9 Premiere Dates Announced

The Golden Bachelor Season 1 & Bachelor In Paradise Season 9 Premiere Dates Announced

ABC has announced the premiere dates for The Golden Bachelor season 1 and Bachelor in Paradise season 9. The Golden Bachelor is the newest installment in the Bachelor franchise. It will feature 71-year-old widower Gerry Turner looking for a second chance at love. Bachelor in Paradise brings together contestants from previous seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette who travel to the beaches of Mexico to look for love.

According to EW, ABC announced that The Golden Bachelor season 1 will debut on Thursday, September 28 at 8 p.m. EDT. Then, Bachelor in Paradise season 9 will premiere on Thursday, September 28 at 9 p.m. The Golden Bachelor stars Gerry, a 71-year-old father and grandfather who lost his wife, Toni, because of a bacterial infection in 2017 after 43 years together. He has two daughters and two granddaughters. Gerry is now searching for a new love in his life. The Golden Bachelor was originally going to air on Mondays after Dancing With The Stars, but ABC has made a change to the schedule.

What To Expect From Bachelor In Paradise Season 9

The Golden Bachelor Season 1 & Bachelor In Paradise Season 9 Premiere Dates Announced

Bachelor in Paradise season 9 will feature two-hour episodes. Unlike season 8 which aired twice a week, season 9 will air only one two-hour episode every Thursday. As in past seasons, the show will most likely feature many contestants from the most recent Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons. Familiar faces from Zach Shallcross and Charity Lawson’s seasons should be in the cast, along with fan favorites from the past. In addition, host Jesse Palmer and bartender Wells Adams will return. Bachelor in Paradise was originally going to air on Tuesday nights, but ABC has decided to pair it with The Golden Bachelor on Thursdays.

Airing The Golden Bachelor at 8 p.m. is a good move for ABC. Its original 10 p.m. time slot was very late, and didn’t take its target audience into consideration. When Charity’s season was changed from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., the move was met with backlash, and ABC eventually switched the show back to its 8 p.m. time slot. Bachelor in Paradise will fit nicely in its 9 p.m. time slot because it has racier material that should air later at night. It was also a good decision to limit Bachelor in Paradise to one night a week because two nights was overwhelming last year.

The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise are two of the most-anticipated fall shows. By pairing them on Thursday nights, ABC has created a Bachelor Nation block of television that will be heartfelt and dramatic. The shows have something for everyone, as they include various age groups ranging from people in their 20s to their 70s. Hopefully, Gerry and the cast of Bachelor in Paradise will find their happily ever afters.
