Superman Gets Ready For A Wild Adventure

Superman-10-1 Main Cover

Superman is no stranger to new characters. He recently welcomed two new characters into his own family: Osul-Ra and Otho-Ra. At the same time, a mysterious woman named Marilyn Moonlight has appeared around Metropolis, but exactly why or who she is isn’t yet clear. She appears to have moon-based or light-based powers, and she can’t be physically touched if she doesn’t want to be. While it’s clear she’s not a malevolent force in Metropolis, the only clue to her history is a flash of an old Western town in an earlier issue of Superman.

The last time Superman encountered Marilyn Moonlight, he was overtaken by a vision of an old-fashioned Wild West town. Now, while the means are still unclear, DC promises to take readers and Superman back to the Wild West to explore the origins of Metropolis’s most mysterious new anti-hero who operates primarily at night (unlike Superman himself). Considering Superman first had a vision of this old town by interacting with Marilyn, it’s likely she’s the cause of both of them suddenly traveling back to the Wild West. Whether this is actual time travel or just Superman reliving Marilyn Moonlight’s memories is unclear. The only certain thing is that this is a situation Superman rarely finds himself in.

Marilyn Moonlight Is Metropolis’ Coolest New Hero

Marilyn Moonlight in Black and White Costume

Superman has encountered many new enemies in the latest Superman title, and it might just be time for him to encounter some new allies. While Marilyn Moonlight hasn’t been outright hostile to Superman, she isn’t exactly an ally either. She seems like a ghost that is trapped within Metropolis for reasons no one yet understands. If Superman can get to the bottom of the mystery of Marilyn Moonlight, it’s very likely that he will have a new ally to help take on the coming threats.
