The Flash Just Proved Why He’s DC’s Most Important Hero

In Infinite Frontier #0, Barry Allen becomes the Flash of the multiverse and proves why he is the DC Universe’s most important hero for the battles to come. Allen has been around for a long time and has factored into some of the biggest events in DC’s history. The Flash’s actions have often been pivotal in leading to the turning point in many storylines, such as his sacrifice in Crisis on Infinite Earths. His knowledge of the multiverse is nearly unmatched, he’s been able to harness his powers to extreme lengths, namely to freely jump from Earth to Earth.

The issue sees Barry working with President Superman of the Justice Incarnate, a multiversal version of the Justice League made up of one superhero from each Earth. For a while, Barry has been tracking the status of the ever-expanding multiverse. Along his travels, Barry has discovered that some Earths’ histories have been rewritten, whilst some remain the same and some have returned from destruction. The Justice Incarnate’s main task is to maintain and monitor the multiverse, they are the first responders who will notify all the respective heroes from all the Earth’s about any impending threat.

In Infinite Frontier‘s “The Flash” story by Joshua Williamson, Howard Porter, and Hi-Fi, Barry Allen retires from his role as the Flash of Central City, passing on the mantle to Wally West. Barry will no longer be the protector of Central City, but he isn’t retiring from being a hero as he is set to become the Flash of the multiverse. Barry takes on President Superman’s offer to become Earth’s representative for the Justice Incarnate. Thanks to his multiversal talents as a speedster, Barry is bound to be the perfect watchful protector to track the growth of the multiverse.

The Flash Just Proved Why He’s DC’s Most Important Hero

On his mission, Barry finds out about the existence of two newly formed Earths, Earth-Omega, and the Elseworld. Barry will keep track of the two anomalies during his upcoming tenure as the Flash of the Justice Incarnate. As it’s his duty to run world to world, keeping track of any seismic changes that could cause a threat. In Infinite Frontier #0, readers were given an insight as to what lies on Earth-Omega, a new all-powerful Darkseid who vows to destroy all of existence. Infinite Frontier is setting its heroes up for another Omniverse-shifting event and Barry, as the Flash of the multiverse, holds the keys to stopping this incoming threat.

Ultimately, Barry will probably end up being the most important hero of the Infinite Frontier era. He will lead the fight against Darkseid as it’s more than likely that he will be the first one to notice any upset or shift in the multiverse. The Flash will be the harbinger of the DC Universe for what’s to come, announcing Darkseid’s impending approach to destroy everything that exists. Infinite Frontier #0 is available in comic book shops and digital platforms now and will continue with an Infinite Frontier limited-series which launches June 22.
