The Flash is Visiting Every Earth in Infinite Frontier Preview

Warning: includes minor spoilers for Infinite Frontier #1!

In the preview for Infinite Frontier #1, the Flash runs through many Earths in the newly expanded DC Omniverse. In Infinite Frontier #0, Barry retired from being Central City’s Flash and passed on the mantle to his protege and friend, Wally West. During the issue, Barry was approached by President Superman with an offer to have a greater role in the ever-expanding multiverse. Accepting the offer, Barry became a member of Justice Incarnate, a team of multiversal heroes.

Barry’s duty as the Flash of the multiverse is to keep track of every Earth. Arguably, his role makes him the most important hero that DC has. This is due to him having to keep track of all the worlds, noting any changes and anomalies as he passes by. With him being everywhere, always, he is bound to run into DC’s next big threat first. Every other hero is busy protecting their singular Earth or city, but Barry’s role is even greater.

In Infinite Frontier #1 by Joshua Williamson, Xermanico, and Romulo Fajardo Jr., the Flash speeds through many iconic DC realities. It looks like Barry’s visits to the Earths of the Omniverse will be short ones. Sent not as a visitor, but on a reconnaissance mission to collect information. Whilst Barry sports his normal Flash costume, he also is seen wearing a backpack. There’s something funny about a superhero running around with such a normal item as a backpack. But it’s obviously necessary that he has it, otherwise, he would definitely opt to travel light. Check out the preview page below:

On the Flash’s multiversal journey he is shown as having run through at least eight other Earths. Those are just eight of the many that he will be visiting, but these are just some of the key worlds that feature. Whether they will have a big part or if this is their only cameo is unknown, but it can be assumed that some other Earth’s heroes will help out when needed. Although it’s not confirmed, the first panel that Barry breaches into features Huntress. This is the Earth-2 Helena Wayne version of the character, as signified by her distinctive purple costume. The Flash then proceeds to race past Stan Lee’s Wonder Woman from his Just Imagine… series. Next to her, Earth-9’s Green Lantern and Superman stand on the steps behind Barry, with Lia Nelson aka Earth-9’s Flash waving. Plunging into the depths of the hellish Earth-12, home of Etrigan, Barry quickly races out of there.

Earth-22, better known as the Kingdom Come Earth, is Flash’s next stop. There he sees Superman and Wallace West aka Kingdom Come Flash. The final three worlds are that of Earth-30 aka Red Son Superman’s Earth, Earth-42 aka the Little League’s Earth, and the most fragile Earth in DC’s universe, Earth-52. During his journey, Barry will be following the multiverse’s structure, going from Earth-0 and expanding outwards. It’s exciting to see all the different, eclectic heroes from around DC’s Omniverse acknowledged by the Flash. Whilst some will be mere cameos, a few will be more prominent as the need for more heroes become apparent.
