The CW’s Gotham Knights Set Videos & Photos Reveal Gotham City PD

The CW’s Gotham Knights pilot is officially filming, with new set videos and photos revealing the first look at the new Gotham City PD. The CW expands its DC TV line-up with new shows joining the slate every year. Sometimes they are set in the Arrowverse, while others take place on their own Earths like Stargirl and Naomi. This year the network is possibly adding another Bat-centric series with Gotham Knights. While it has the same name as the upcoming Warner Bros. video game, The CW project will not have any ties to it whatsoever.

Gotham Knights will center around Bruce Wayne’s adoptive son, who has to clear his name along with several children of Batman’s enemies after they get framed for the murder of Batman. These unexpected heroes will become the new protectors of Gotham City. Batwoman writers/producers Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams are attached as the creators of the potential DC drama, with Gotham, Pennyworth director David Nutter helming the pilot. Despite their involvement with Batwoman, Gotham Knights will not be a spinoff to the ongoing Arrowverse series.

The Gotham Knights pilot officially began filming this week, and unlike the other DC TV shows on The CW, they are shooting in Toronto, Canada, instead of Vancouver. However, that does not stop the public from getting glimpses of the new series as new set videos and photos emerge online. Through Toronto Filming and Dewucme, they captured some sequences involving this iteration of the Gotham City Police Department. It’s unclear if these are flashbacks or scenes taking place in the present. Check out the videos and images below:

While the GCPD always plays a significant role in the Batman mythology, both in comics and in medical, it’s unclear what involvement it will have on Gotham Knights. So far, there haven’t been any official casting announcements for someone like Commissioner Gordon or other Gotham PD characters. That may become clearer as the pilot gets further into filming. As of right now, Gotham Knights will star Oscar Morgan as Turner Hayes, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela, Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelley, Tyler DiChiara as Cullen Bow, Fallon Smythe as Harper Row, Misha Collins as Harvey Dent, Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown, and Rahart Adams as Brody.

Even though the last few Arrowverse/DC TV pilots haven’t taken off, The CW is investing a lot into Gotham Knights, which bodes well for a series pick-up. Fans may have to wait a little longer to learn if the show is a go or not once the network sees a finished cut. Traditionally, The CW usually announces their series order a week to two before the Upfronts or on the day of the event. However, Gotham Knights’ production schedule may keep it from joining the fall 2022 slate, but it could always be added as a mid-season show for 2023.
