Jeff the Land Shark and Alligator Loki will be joining forces for the “Clawsover of the Century,” with the Infinity Paws are at stake. Marvel is currently assembling a line-up of Earth’s cuddliest heroes for an all-new Marvel event series, which will involve the pet equivalent of the Infinity Gauntlet, famously quested after by Thanos.
The announcement comes from Mavel’s “NEXT BIG THING” New York Comic-Con panel, which revealed the upcoming series, Infinity Paws, written by Jason Loo with illustrations and colors by Nao Fuji.
While the panel did not reveal an official solicit or a release date, the series can be expected sometime in spring 2024.
Infinity Paws Will Be A Cuddly Cosmic Adventure
Many readers will be familiar with Alligator Loki thanks to his debut in Loki on Disney+, as well as the two Alligator Loki comic book series, released in 2022 and in 2023. Jeff the Land Shark originally debuted in 2019 after being adopted by Gwenpool. Since then, Jeff has found his way into random adventures with various Marvel heroes, as in 2023’s IT’S JEFF! one-shot. It seems as though this will be the first time these two will be sharing a panel since 2022’s Alligator Loki Infinity Comic #15, written by Alyssa Wong and Robert Quinn, with Infinity Paws promising a larger role for both animals.
As seen in the promotional material released for Infinity Paws at 2023’s New York Comic-Con, they are joined by Lucky the Pizza Dog whom MCU viewers met in Hawkeye, and Captain Marvel’s Flerken cat, Goose. While Goose and Lucky are both notable in their own right, Alligator Loki managed to be one of the standout variants of the MCU Loki series, while Jeff the Land Shark has quickly become a fan-favorite, especially among children. Much of the fanfare over the series will revolve around these two reuniting. That said, it is worth getting excited about this fanged foursome coming together for an adventure as cuddly as it is cosmic.
Earth’s Cutest Heroes Assemble!
While Marvel’s Infinity Paws announcement is enough to excite speculation on its own, fans will eagerly anticipate more info about the series, in the form of a solicitation and preview. The best assumption about what the “Infinity Paws” are would be the cat paw-shaped equivalent of the famous Infinity Gauntlet. If that’s the case, it is possible the series will see its featured creatures not teaming up, but rather racing one another to get to the Infinity Paws, along with the gems that give the Paws their power. Time will tell, as Jeff the Land Shark, Goose, Lucky, and Alligator Loki share the page in what could be the cutest ensemble Marvel has ever compiled.
Infinity Paws is expected to arrive in the spring of 2024 from Marvel Comics.
